I have an itch and don't want to just write flash fiction. IDK if I'm going to use this prompt table for all the same people, but I'm going to start with some Teen Wolf and Leverage because that's where my brain is I lied, this is turning into a Teen Wolf/TVDverse Soulmate AU collection, I'm just indulging my bliss here.

It truly is the most comfortable cage Peter’s ever resided in.
Plush bed and covers, his own bathroom with a shower, no torture, no electrocution, no being tied to a fence for hours on end or losing any of his fingers. Really, Elena and Tyler should be commended. But a cage is still a cage, and eventually the edges of it chafe. Even with Wi-Fi.
When his door is open, he projects the coolness of someone completely unconcerned. But when the door is closed, he paces the walls, and he can’t tell if it’s Malivore’s compulsion trying to exert itself or his own distaste for being caged, or maybe a sour combination of both. He can’t help but try to look for a way out, a chink in the armor of where he’s being held, but even the window dressings are made with mountain ash.
He can’t escape. And more to the point, he shouldn’t be trying to. Not with the life of a child on the line.
So, he entertains himself with eavesdropping, because, as supernatural-proof as the bedrooms are, they’re not soundproofed.
“Hi guys. I’m Bonnie. I think we should have a talk.”
It catches his attention somewhere in the early morning, and he quietly opens his door so as not to draw the attention of Elena and Bonnie at the other end of the hallway. They take the boys back into the room, but he can still hear the conversation through the walls.
“There are people in the world who have special gifts. Powers. Things that make them not human. And we think you guys might be some of those people.”
“Like what powers?”
“Well, I’m a witch,” Bonnie explains. “So I can do magic. And Tyler, he’s what we call a werewolf.”
“Like turns into a wolf on the full moon?”
“Just like that. These powers can take time to show up, so we don’t know what you are for sure, but the black line keeps supernatural creatures from getting in—but it also means it keeps them from getting out. We didn’t mean to trap you in here. We just didn’t know.”
“So does that mean the black line won’t keep us safe anymore?”
“No, it will. But we’ll have to come let you out in the morning. Right now, the more important thing is keeping you safe. Okay?”
The boys don’t seem pleased with that assessment, but they have been through enough in their lives to recognize that their safety is important. They’d rather be safe than free, and that’s a dangerous combination, in Peter’s opinion.
Then again, Peter is the one posing a threat to them at the moment.
Elena and Bonnie release the boys from their room and Bonnie takes them down for breakfast, but Elena pauses at his doorway when she realizes he was listening in. She doesn’t admonish him for it, which is a refreshing change of pace.
“Raf’s eyes say werewolf,” she asks softly. “Is there any chance he’s one of yours?”
Peter winces before shaking his head. At this age, seven verging on eight, a werewolf of his type would show signs, shifts in their scent. Werewolves like Tyler are harder to catch. They smell human for much longer, though they show some susceptibilities to things like mountain ash.
“He smells as human as they come. If he was one of mine, he would lean a little more wolf at this point.”
Elena nods. “That’s unfortunate.”
“It is.” Peter nods. “But how fortunate that he finds himself in the care of people uniquely capable of helping him handle it.”
Elena glances up, surprised at the observation, but doesn’t comment further. Peter will just take the seed planted for what it is. She rests a hand on the doorframe briefly, before nodding. “I’ll bring up some breakfast for you in an hour.”
Peter nods and takes the unspoken acknowledgement of what it is. “Thank you.”
Sometimes Malia will swing by, asking her usual blunt questions as she tries to pick out the puzzle pieces of where he fits in her memory. He’s honest with her, because eventually she will remember and he’s known his daughter long enough at this point that he knows attempting to manipulate her will gain him no ground. The conversations are brief and to the point, but it whiles away for some hours, so he appreciates the distraction.
Derek scowls at him from across the aisle some afternoons, but that almost feels normal. He attempts to engage his nephew in conversation, though more often than not, it ends in teasing him about his sad puppy eyes for the blond vampire soulmate he’s found himself with, and Derek takes that about as well as expected.
Stiles and Allison have simperingly dry conversations as Allison tries to place herself back in his life, and that is where he considers drinking wolfsbane or testing the full security measures of his cell.
The best times are the ones where he and Freya have their doors open at the same time. Their conversations are also brief, because Peter is all too aware of his nephew nearby, and doesn’t want to give Derek any more ammunition than he already has. But a frustrating part of him still aches for her, and he will take whatever small portion of her time that he can grasp at the moment.
But the most surprising visitor he has comes in the late evening, long after this visitor is supposed to be in bed. The knock comes, short and light, and when he swings it open, he blinks at who he finds on the other side.
“Aren’t you supposed to be in bed?”
“Hi, Peter,” Hope says softly. She greets him like she knows him, and he feels his chest clench at how much he’s needed that.
“Hello, Hope.”
“Can I come in?”
“Of course.” He steps to the side, watching as she crosses over the mountain ash threshold with ease, and leaves the door open. Just in case his mother is listening from somewhere in the house. “You really shouldn’t be here, though.”
“I know.” Hope shrugs. “But you’re the only one who remembers everything I know.”
Peter tips his head to the side curiously. “Am I?”
She nods. “You went into the pit first. So when everyone forgot you, I still remembered you. But I heard Aunt Davina say that once you’re in the pit, you aren’t affected by Malivore anymore, so you remember everyone who went in after you until you came back.”
“That is very astute of you. Then again, you always were a smart kid.”
“Dad says I get it from my mom,” she grins, and he laughs.
“He’s not wrong.” Peter moves over to sit in one of the comfortable chairs, and Hope settles on the one across from him.
“Do you think they’ll really be able to get everyone’s memories back?”
“I think there’s a very high probability that once the witches in the room set their mind to something, anything is possible.”
Hope nods. “Everyone keeps saying I’m the loophole. Do you … do you think that’s why I exist?”
Peter turns to look at her again, and frowns. He knows it’s entirely possible that Hope’s existence is a quirk of nature no one expected. Even when two other supernatural species crossbreed, the child leans towards one species. Case in point, his daughter. But does he want Hope to believe that about herself?
No. Not really. Peter rarely lends himself to being kind, but he also knows that Hope is looking to him, because she knows he won’t sugarcoat things for her. So he’s not about to start now.
“It’s possible. Nature is funny that way. It creates something where it feels there’s a need.” Peter then leans closer to meet her eyes. “But once you’re here, and you’re your own person? Then your life is whatever you want it to be.”
Hope nods. “Is that why you helped Landon instead of giving him to Malivore?”
“Yes,” Peter nods. It sounds much more noble than his actual reason of somehow growing a conscience at this late age. “That’s why.”
She smiles before resting her hand on his. “I won’t tell anyone you were being nice.”
Peter laughs, before giving her hand a squeeze. “I appreciate that. I have a reputation to protect.”
Hope slides off her chair with a yawn before reaching down into her pocket. “Oh! Aunt Freya wanted me to give you this.” She passes over a small white crystal that fits neatly into the palm of his hand. “Do you know how to work it?”
He shakes his head, and she makes her way closer, and closes his fingers around it, and in the room appears a holographic version of Freya, lounging casually on her bed in the other room, close enough to touch but not actually real.
“I thought this might be an easier way to talk, rather than just waiting for each other to have our doors open and risking being overheard,” she says gently, and he smiles.
“I appreciate that.”
Hope smiles at the two of them before turning and heading off to bed. “Night, Peter.”
“Good night, Hope. And thank you.”
The girl turns back with a smile, before stepping back over the barrier and closing the door behind her. Peter turns his attention back to Freya and smiles. Maybe whiling away the hours won’t be so bad after all.
