Summer Reading:

I want to try and read more this summer, because there's so much I wasn't able to read during the school year, and so much I wanted to. I also can't remember who reccommended what to me, so! If you recommended something for me to read, and it's not the list already, comment here with it, or if you have any suggestions that aren't on the list, feel free to let me know.

The List
Son of a Witch by Gregory Maguire
Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
Neil Gaiman:
Good Omens (Gaiman and Prachett)
American Gods
Anasazi Boys
Neverwhere
Stardust (Gaiman and Vess)
The Losers by David Eddings
Between the Bridge and the River by Craig Ferguson
Watchmen by Alan Moore

And I noticed you said you like hilariously ridiculous...if you like Good Omens, read anything from Terry Pratchett's Discworld series. Or anything from Piers Anthony's Xanth series.

Ooo...I'll definitely check that out.

I loved the Xanth books when I was in high school. I didn't get very far in the series but then, it doesn't particularly matter what order you read them in. Also ridiculously funny.

The puns! Oh, man, some of the puns are horrible in that series...but in a fun way. I think Night Mare is my favorite, though (and I'm probably butchering the titles) Vale of the Vole and Centaur Aisle are my other favorites.

I love Xanth..

The 'Apprentice Adept' series by Anthony is good too.

Or Robert Aspirin's Myth series, including 'Another Fine Myth", and others.

I just got some books in that series. What I've read so far is great.

"It's a Pervert!"

"That's -Pervect!-"

LOL. I read those when I was younger, and I bought an anthology at Borders (though I think they're at Barnes & Noble too) with the first six books. I'm going to have to reread them. ;)

The book I got is the first two books in one. I don't even know where I got it from, but I'm about halfway through the first book (shiny CSI: Miami tie-in novels have diverted my attention, but since I'm geeking out tomorrow I'm bringing it with me).

I found out recently they made an NCIS book. Imagine my disappointment when none of the show characters were in it.

We should also recommend that she read Spider Robinson.
She'd probably like Callahan's and Lady Sally.

Damn....this is making me want to go back and read all those books again.

How could I forget Callahan's?!? ::facepalm:: They're all great. Really. I have the Callahan's anthology (I love Long Drink and Micky Finn and Mary and...and I love them all, but Callahan the most) and I want the books that take place when they go to Key West and after that. And Lady Sally? I own both the books and re-read them constantly.

I read them when I was younger, and they're so awesome. Dammit. I will end up buying them and reading them, which is funny because I have so many newer books to read. ;)

I don't think I've read them all, but I will..
