Joey Lawerence fell from a building into a poilce car. I think that might have scarred my inner child. No doubt he was a pretty creepy bad guy, but that last scene I was yelling at the screen going "Don't jump off the building, don't jump off the building, don't jump off the building..."
OMG HAWKES! The writers do remember he exists! And it was a Hawkes/Danny case, which made me so incredibly happy. The two of them running around Coney island was just amazingly fun. Although Lindsay wasn't there much--I didn't really mind. While I wish she'd have more screentime, I could see where the writers could have fit her in a few places, but I couldn't really see her running around Coney Island with Danny and/or Hawkes. It would have been too much.
And my inner-Cassavelli so wanted to slug Mac for going at Adam like that. Nuh-uh. I said this with Hawkes, and I'll say it with Adam. That was really too much more than was called for. Jerk.
Also, the conversation with Flack? Mac really just doesn't get it. This isn't just about Flack blaming himself, which he does, but other cops blaming Flack as well. I wish the writers would go into the kind of heat Flack is taking about the Truby backlash, because they're hinting at it from the way Flack is acting, but the audience doesn't really see it, and it would make Flack's point of view so much stronger for the audience, and we'd be able to sympathize with him more. But then again, TPTB don't really care that much about Flack's development, so I guess this is just doesn't matter.
Also, I'm beginning to think that Mac's pressing need to keep Danny in line might be coming from the fact that Mac has problems with authority himself. I've been thinking about the conversation he had with Gerrard, and thinking about ones he's had in the past, and it's reminding me of the Danny/Mac conversations from season 1. Where Danny would take things a step too far, get ahead of the evidence, and Mac would have to rein him back in--I can see the same thing between Mac and Gerrard. It's really interesting to see, for me anyway. It wasn't as prominent in the first two seasons, because we haven't really had someone for Mac to keep Mac in line in that way, but now that we do, we can see that Danny and Mac are a lot more alike than people think.
Oh, and Mac? You're so screwed next week.
Also, is the Cold Case episode for the crossover this Sunday, or the Sunday after the NY episode?

And Hawkes! The idea of Danny and Hawkes at Coney Island was a gift from the writers, I swear. i absolutely loved Hawkes in this, and I hope he gets more attention as the season winds down.
As for Cold Case? I'd do both. Or watch the previews and see if this week's Cold Case ads mention the crossover.

Hawkes was absolutely adorable. I'm beginning to think he had one of those sheltered childhoods, and he'd never actually been to Coney island before. And I'm so glad it was Danny with him, because the two of them were looking like they were having so much fun together. It really was great to watch.
The Cold Case page at cbs.com isn't saying anything about it, so I don't really know. I guess I'll just watch both a see what happens. I like Cold Case, kind of--the lead kinda weirds me out.

Mac is in major shit right now. Honestly, I almost hope that he either did push him off, or that he was running towards Dobson at the very least.
Because Dobson fell BACKWARDS. Leaning that far over would be really hard.

Well, if he was handcuffed, it'd probably be pretty easy to throw his center of gravity backwards and lose his balance. He wouldn't have his arms to provide some kind of counter balance, or be able to pitch is body in a way that would help him stay standing. So while I find it equally believable that Mac could have pushed him, or he could have fallen off himself, I want to know what the hell Mac was doing letting him get that close to the edge of the building once he had the cuffs on him.

I hadn't thought about the center of gravity issue (maybe that's why I'm a chemist, not a physicist!).
I just saw the full promo on CBS.com, and

There's a fight scene, and it looks like they are actually on a part of the roof where there's nothing to keep you from falling- and Dobson simply leans back, keeping is back essentially straight- imagine the "trust fall". Last night, when they panned back to Mac, it had just seemed to me that there was a wall to prevent something lack that, and you'd actually have to lean completely over (back bend) to fall off. But Mac was still being somewhat idiotic. Although, I don't think it's just this incident they will bring up in the investiagtion.

Mac getting all over Adam's ass like that was doubly-bad because not only was it uncalled for, but we know that Adam's father was a bully. You could tell how flustered he got being yelled at. :(

I feel like Mac feels like he's losing control, and so he needs to jump down other's people's throats to get in control again, and that only makes his relationships with his employees worse. And plus, what was Adam supposed to do? Tell Gerrard, no, he couldn't have the DNA results? It's not like Adam knew Gerrard was going to use them to jump down Mac's throat.
