Another Fic Project (Part 2)

"Well, if it makes you feel any better," he began, putting his glass down, "If you start to do something stupid, I'll be doing it with you."

"That makes me feel a lot better," she said, laughing. She reached over for the whiskey. "One more and we take a break for a bit, all right?"

"Sounds good to me," he grinned before placing the glass down in front of her.

She poured the shots. "Your turn again."

"To stupid things," he said smoothly, raising his glass in the air.

She laughed again "To stupid things." She paused before taking her shot to stop chuckling and then downed it.

McCallahan took his shot as well, before leaning back in the booth, "I'm actually starting to kinda like being in here after hours. I like the quiet."

"I know. Half the time I'm down here by myslef..." She shifted her body so she was facing him more. "Mario usually waits for me to get off work, which is right about when he closes up for the night. He makes me dinner and either eats with me or goes upstairs."

"Keeps you pretty well fed, then?" he asked.

"At least three nights of the week. Four if I'm playing pool with my dad; loser buys dinner here. He and Mario are pretty tight."

"It's good to have friends that know how to cook."

"He's taught me how to make every Italian dish I know how to make except spaghetti, though he did teach me a good sauce recipie." She gestured to her plate. "I can make that and a good lasagna."

"I love lasagna," McCallahan closed his eyes, "Probably my favorite Italian food of all time."

"Next time I make some, maybe I'll invite you over," she said. "If you'd be interested."

"I'm always interested in lasagna."

"Well, then one of these days you're going to end up at my place eating," she said with a laugh. "I'll probably make a batch of chicken lasagna, too...I actually like that more."

"Lasagna with chicken?" he frowned, "I've never had that before."

"It's pretty good. It uses a white sauce instead of a red one, though." She thought for a second. "I'll make both and let you try it."

"I like that idea," he nodded.

"Good. I'll cook for you, you can sneak me into your childhood home to see your trophies," she said with a nod. "Sounds like a fair trad-off to me."

"It's a deal," he nodded, before extending his hand to her.

She shook his hand. "Deal."

"Now, my end of the deal is going to take a bit of wrangling on my part," he sighed, "I'll have to time it so that my mother isn't home, and my father isn't paying attention."

"Pay for them to go out to dinner," she suggested, and then grinned. "Tell them you know this fantastic Italian restaurant."

"They'll start asking questions if I pay them," McCallahan mused with a smirk, "I'll just recommend it. It's pretty easy to get them to go out to eat."
