makeitstopjamie in response to the Five Pairings Meme (which I'm still taking requests for, by the way). You're going to be so mean to Jim, Mindy. Every single one is somebody picking on him. Except for Christina. And Liz...kinda.
Disclaimer: I don't own the characters of Conviction, CSI: Miami, CSI:NY or Numb3rs. They are owned by CBS or NBC.
Megan Reeves
“You’re like a sad puppy,” Angie commented as she sat on his desk, watching him. Colby turned back to her, giving her a look.
“What?”
“You staring at Reeves,” Angie replied, and he just blinked at her, “It’s like a puppy who wants to enter the house, but is just left on the porch and has to watch through the window.
“First of all, I am not staring at her,” he stated, and Angie only raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms in front of her chest. Colby swallowed, and continued, “I’m—admiring her at work.”
“Uh-huh,” she replied.
“Second of all—”
“There’s a second of all?”
“No, not really,” Colby replied, sighing heavily before running a hand through his hair, “But I’m not that bad, Angie.” She didn’t respond, just looked at him and he frowned, “I’m that bad?”
She reached over and pat him softly on the head, “You make such a cute puppy.”
“You’re a puppy, Granger?” Megan commented, coming up to them and Colby just blanked looking flustered, and turned to Angie for an explanation.
“Don’t look at me,” Angie shrugged, “I just work here.”

Christina Finn
“Umm—Special Agent Granger?” Christina frowned, and Colby whirled around, giving the red-headed woman a smile.
“Colby Granger,” he said, extending his hand to her, “ADA Finn?”
“Christina,” she sighed, before turning and gesturing for him to follow her, “Thank you for flying all the way out here from LA on such short notice, both Cabot and I really appreciate it.”
“Well, her subpoena asked me so nicely,” Colby replied, giving her a smirk, “I couldn’t say no.”
Christina laughed, “I appreciate it. Your testimony will really help our case.”
“In that case, anything for the New York DA’s office,” Colby grinned, and she could feel the blush creeping up the side of her neck.
“Glad we have your cooperation,” she smiled, before holding open the door to the conference room for him, and gesturing inside, “After you?”
***
Lindsay Monroe
“It’s like talking to Charlie,” Colby said as he and David were sitting in the breakroom, going over his encounter with one of the CSIs earlier, “Except she’s a she and she’s cute.”
“You think she’s cute?” David said, giving him a look.
“You don’t?”
David smirked before shaking his head, “She’s not my type.”
“Right—” Colby stated slowly, “—You were checking out the homicide detective.”
“Don’t go turning this back on me,” David stated.
“You were the one who said—”
“No, Granger,” David sighed, “We were talking about you and this crush on Detective Monroe.”
“What?” Colby blinked, “Who said anything about me—?”
“You were the one who said she was cute, dude,” David laughed, “Not me.”
“Said who’s cute?” Lindsay asked as she came into room.
“David’s got a bit of a crush on Angell,” Colby replied before the other man could respond.
“Really?” Lindsay said, giving the other man a look.
David shook his head, “He’s losing his mind a bit. Doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”
A confused look blinked across Lindsay’s face, “OK. Good luck with that David.”
“Thanks, Monroe,” David replied, watching Lindsay as she walked out of the room, and his hand connecting with the back of Colby’s head.
***
Liz Warner
“Another shot, Warner?” Colby smirked, his voice slurring slightly.
“Don’t you think you’ve had enough?” Liz frowned giving him a look.
“Yes,” Colby nodded, “But you haven’t had nearly enough.”
“You tryin’ to get me drunk, Granger?” she smirked, leaning back in the booth.
“May-be,” Colby grinned, “You protestin?’”
“Not necessarily,” she replied, inching towards him, “But if you just wanted me to kiss you, you didn’t have to get me drunk.”
“See, that information might have been more helpful three shots ago,” Colby murmured, as her lips landed on his.
***
Calleigh Duquesne
“I don’t think that’s right,” Colby replied, and Calleigh whirled around, fixing him with a look. He knew that that probably wasn’t the way he should have phrased that particular statement, considering he knew next to nothing about forensic science and she knew—pretty much everything, but he had never been one for worrying about his word choice. But he knew now that he should probably start considering he knew without a shadow of a doubt that Calleigh was a far better shot than he was, and tended to move faster than he could realize.
“Excuse me?” she said.
“Well—umm—you see,” Colby said, swallowing hard, trying to figure out a way to dig himself out of the hole he had very quickly dug himself into, “That wasn’t quite what I meant.”
“Really?” Calleigh replied, crossing her arms in front of her chest, “What did you mean?”
“I meant—” Colby replied, “—I meant that I don’t agree with the way you interpreted the evidence.”
“That’s better,” Calleigh replied with a smile, and he shook his head.
“You enjoyed watching me squirm a bit too much, Officer Duquesne.”
“Yes, well,” she said, giving him a look, “You squirm a bit too easily, Agent Granger.”
