Five Loves of Nick Stokes

Fandom: CSI and crossovers with Las Vegas and CSI:NY
Title: Five Loves of Nick Stokes
Author: [livejournal.com profile] iluvroadrunner6
Rating: FRT
Characters: Nick Stokes/various pairings
Content Warning: N/A
Summary: Five pairings that could happen.
Author's Note: Written for [livejournal.com profile] goddess_loki in response to the Five Pairings Meme (which I'm still taking requests for, by the way). She picked Nick, and I had fun with this, considering I don't write nearly enough Nick.
Disclaimer: I don't own the characters of CSI, CSI:NY or Las Vegas. They are owned by CBS and NBC.

Sara Sidle

Nick looked up from the report Grissom was going over and met Sara’s eyes across the table and he almost grinned at the smirk sitting on the woman’s lips. Stolen glances across the room, and that was enough for them. Sara could always say things more clearly with a look than she could with words and these little looks was her way of letting him know that he was still on her mind.

The secrecy was something that he could live without, but it was the way things needed to be. She wasn’t necessarily comfortable with having an open relationship considering her history with Grissom, and he understood that. He was just hoping that eventually they could reach a point where things didn’t have to be this way. Until then, subtle glances it was.

Grissom finished speaking, and they all got up to do what they needed to do. Nick stayed seated, reading over the report again, when he felt her arm snake around his neck and pull him close.

“See you at home?” He gave her a nod, and she smiled brushing a quick kiss against his cheek before heading out of the room. In the end, though, it was always worth it just to see her smile.

Stella Bonasera

Nick found her pacing, muttering in Greek, and he knew that this had been one of the moments that Danny had warned him against. The moment where he was forced to face an angry Stella. And he knew that Danny had been right.

She was scary when she was angry.

“You alright, Stell?” he frowned.

“Me? I’m just peachy,” she growled, before continuing to mutter to herself, mostly in the same foreign language, but sprinkled with bits and pieces of English, usually ‘son of a bitch’ or some other not-so-friendly term of endearment. He waited for a moment before speaking up again.

“Stella?” he asked, and received no response. “Sweetheart?” She turned to him, green eyes flashing.

“What?”

“Wanna run my ballistics test?” he said, holding up the evidence bag with the nine mill sitting in it. The angry look faded and was replaced by a smile.

“Absolutely.”

Sofia Curtis

“Dude, you need a girl,” Warrick commented to Nick, and the other man just returned the look.

“What makes you say that?” Nick smirked, shaking his head.

“You go home at the end of your shift, alone, no girlfriend, nothing,” Warrick sighed, “You’re starting to worry me a bit.”

Nick laughed, before looking down the line of lockers to where Sofia was standing. She just gave him a smirk, and he turned back to Warrick. “I must be getting old, man.”

“Uh-huh,” Warrick replied, “Well—let me know how that’s working for you.” Warrick left and Nick and Sofia in the locker room, and Sofia shot Nick another look.

“Growing old, Stokes?” she smirked, and he shook his head.

“What did you want me to tell him? The truth?” he said, walking over to where she was standing. Sofia shrugged.

“I guess that was better than the alternative.”

“So how ‘bout it, Curtis?” he grinned, “Wanna come grow old with me?” Sofia laughed.

“You’re lucky you’re cheesy, Stokes.”

Sam Marquez

“So, look, whatever your name is—” Sam began and Nick just continued to stare at the woman in disbelief. Of all the women in Vegas for Warrick to set him up with, he had to pick Samantha Marquez.

“It’s Nick,” he corrected, and she dismissed it with a wave of her hand.

“Right, Nick, whatever,” she sighed, “I think it’s pretty obvious why we’re both here. So if we could just head up to my hotel room, get this over with and head on our merry way, we’d be saving each other a lot of time and energy.” She started to walk back towards the elevator, but turned back when she realized that he wasn’t following her. “Aren’t you coming?”

“Look, Sam,” he sighed, “You might be that easy—but it’s going to take a bit more than that to get me upstairs.” Suddenly an annoyed look crossed the other woman’s face.

“Don’t tell me I’m going to have to wine you and dine you,” Sam replied, and Nick shrugged with a small smile.

“Call me old fashioned, but that’s the way it’s gonna be.”

“I’m gonna kill Mike,” she muttered as she rolled her eyes, before taking his hand and starting to drag him away, “C’mon, let’s go.”

“Where are we going?”

“Wolfgang’s,” she sighed, “I swear, the way to a man’s pants better be through his stomach.

Kristy Hopkins

There were moments where he would think about her. Usually when he was feeling lonely, and wishing that he had someone to go home to. As much trouble as she caused him, he did like her. People would dismiss her because of her profession, and he could have done the same, but he didn’t.

He could never tell if she was using him or she really actually liked him. His brain was telling him that she needed a knight in shining armor, someone to drag under as he tried to save her, but his gut wanted to believe that she really cared about him. His gut kept flashing back to the way she kissed him that night, or the way it felt, or the words she said, but his brain would then kick in, reminding him of her profession, and how she made a living making you feel like she was the only guy in her world.

And then it reminded him of what Jack had told him after he had been arrested. How she was going back to school not to better herself, but to recruit more girls. Logic was telling him to believe him, saying that Kristy had manipulated him every step of the way. That she was just using him to get what she wanted, or to get her out of things.

But then his gut would remind him of the fact that she didn’t charge him.

i figured it was better to have only one controversial pairing, and i, personally, found it easier to write kristy than kelly.

but i'm glad you liked it.
