Meme!

Because I'm bored and this looks like fun:

Ask me my Top Five Whatevers. Fannish or literary or otherwise. Any top fives. Doesn't matter what, really! Fandoms, ice cream flavours, cartoon moments, women in my fandoms, OTPs, ideal holiday destinations, goals for the future, celebrity crushes, books I wish would be made into movies, love songs. And I will answer them all in comments.

Ask me as many as you want.

Recasting Choices

[identity profile] iluvroadrunner6.livejournal.com 2010-08-13 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
So some of these are going to make me into a bigger dork than I already am, so. Here we go:

1) Jake from Animorphs -> Jared Padalecki. Don't get me wrong, I love Shawn Ashmore to death, but he wasn't even the right look for Jake. If I had had Nickelodeon when it was on the air, I probably would have watched it anyway, but that was the biggest turn off for me for the cast. Jared makes a little more sense, but that was '98 and he was sixteen at the time, so he might not have been acting yet.

2) Anna Milton -> Autumn Reeser. I think Anna could have been a really interesting character if she'd had a better actress. It's nothing against Julie McNiven, because I know some people liked her portrayal, but I think that once Anna got her angel-ness back, the character lost a lot that she could have kept, and I think that Autumn would have handled it a lot better. She could do that mix of quirky and serious that would be needed for the part to really work.

3) Harry Dresden -> Misha Collins. I have absolutely NOTHING against Paul Blackthorne's interpretation of Harry. Given that I saw the series before I read the books, I probably wouldn't have read the first book without having liked his portrayal of Harry. However, when I'm reading Storm Front I keep hearing Misha's deadpan delivery in my head.

4) Susan Storm -> Elisabeth Rohm. I think Sue should have been played by a natural blond, not Jessica Alba pretending to be a natural blond. And I've loved Elisabeth for a long time and think that she would have made a badass Sue.

5) Mandy from Ella Enchanted -> someone older. I don't really have a specific preference as to who, and I love Minnie Driver to bits, but -- Mandy should have been older. Fairy or not.

Favoritest Pairings Ever

[identity profile] iluvroadrunner6.livejournal.com 2010-08-13 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't really OTP, because I like to keep an open mind about things and ship around, so I modified it slightly. ;)

1) Flack/Lindsay ~ CSI:NY ~ I've found that I like pairings that they tease me with, and they definitely do that here. Every time he calls her Monroe and they have a moment I fistpump.

2) Sam/Ruby ~ Supernatural ~ I love the dirtybadwrongness of it. I love that he let Ruby get that close, and I'd like to believe that it wasn't all about Lucifer for her. I love how she didn't just say she got a dead body for him, she waited for the spirit to leave. And I just ... think they would have so much potential if Sam was evil.

3) Eliot/Sophie ~ Leverage ~ People have started shipping them recently? I've been shipping them since episode one. I love the trust issues, I love the snark. I love how she has him programmed to do her bidding, and he knows it but she gets him every time. They're just fun and the show likes to tease me with them. Personally? I think they got together while Nate was in prison. But that's just me.

4) Dean/Bela ~ Supernatural ~ I love Dean/Jo, don't get me wrong. But Dean/Bela is always going to be my favorite Dean pairing. I think if the fans hadn't been lame or her season hadn't gotten cut short by the writer's strike, they would have been really interesting to see together. And, as [livejournal.com profile] risingfire has said, the hatesex would have been epic.

5) Shawn/Jules ~ Psych ~ I love how he always says the wrong thing around her. He can never get his game right and that to me is so so endearing. Because Shawn isn't a smooth guy, and he isn't perfect when it comes to women -- he's cooky and quirky and he doesn't always get the girl, but him saying things wrong doesn't always turn off Jules completely, and that, to me, is a really big sign.

Mind you, these are just canon-wise and not related to RP, the crossover crack in my brain, or any other craziness. If you want those, that's a whole other list.

THIS IS TRUE. It's important to keep an open mind about ships.

1) AGREED. And there really is no chemistry like the one Flack had with her, I feel.

2) ALSO AGREED. I just...really, really loved Ruby in general. I love that as the seasons progressed we saw the darker side of Sam. If Sam had given in to the evil, there really would've been no stopping this.

3) I need to see Leverage. :(

4) Dean/Bela hate sex would have...made the world implode with its hotness. I love that I can appreciate all sorts of pairings for SPN, just because the show itself doesn't focus on them.

5) DAWW, also agreed.

I'd totally love crossover crack if you're up for it! =D

Re: Favoritest Pairings Ever

[identity profile] iluvroadrunner6.livejournal.com 2010-08-14 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
1) And the stupid writers had to pair her off with Danny. Granted, I haven't met a Flack ship I didn't like, but they kind of killed Danny/Lindsay for me.

2) They kill me. Every time. I'm such a sucker for them, you have no idea. My Ruby is such a Sam whore.

3) WATCH LEVERAGE. You'll LOVE it.

4) I love that too. The show is just about the brothers which gives you so much room to play around with the what ifs. Like, I don't even hate Dean/Lisa, as sudden as it was.

As for the crossover crack ... hmmmm ...

1) Bela/Parker ~ Supernatural/Leverage ~ They're both thieves, but that isn't the only reason why I ship them. They both had pretty rough childhoods, and Bela would identify with her, which is pretty hard for Bela to do. They would take care of each other in their own odd way.

2) Wesley/Lindsay ~ Buffyverse/CSI:NY ~ Personally, I love making Lindsay a hunter/Watcher/whatever the case may be. I think she would be badass at it, and she and Wesley would definitely hit it off snark-wise. I think they would have a lot of fun together -- so long as she could get him to stop drinking.

3) Eliot/Sydney ~ Leverage/Alias ~ He's done sneaky government things, she's done sneaky government things -- and she would drive him insane. They would bicker throughout the entire mission, maybe even tussle a bit, and it would lead to sexy funtimes. It'd be awesome.

4) Dean/Buffy, Sam/Faith ~ Supernatural/Buffyverse ~ I'm a Dean/Buffy, Sam/Faith girl, though I don't oppose things being the other way around. Mostly because I feel like Dean and Buffy share the same family values -- as in them before me -- and Sam and Faith both follow the same road to redemption. So ... it makes more sense to me in my head.

5) Jack/Inara ~ Whoverse/Firefly ~ Granted this is a much older Jack, but I think they would have a very interesting relationship. I've played with it a bit in fic, but I should probably do more with it.

My Ruby is such a Sam whore.

XD I LOL'd.

4) Yes. The show focuses entirely on the family dynamic and its mythology arcs of the season which is something I can totally get behind. The fandom would probably be even SCARIER if it did focus on ships. I love that this show is about Sam and Dean and that we can appreciate the other dynamics to a lesser extent.

XD

I love all your crossover crack. I've read your fics about some of them and really love them. SO, you get an A+ from me.

I love this meme.

XD I LOL'd.

Seriously. Of the roleplay verse that she has? 85% of them are Sam. And she doesn't have that many.

I will be getting to your other requests momentarily. Just working on tidying up a bit. =D

Male Characters

[identity profile] iluvroadrunner6.livejournal.com 2010-08-17 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Don Flack, Jr. ~ CSI:NY: I could talk all day about the things that I love about Flack. I love his snark and commitment to his job and his friends. I love how he wants to find the bad guy, but he can see the shades of gray in it too. He's been my favorite character on TV for such a long time, even with Dean Winchester and his epicness.

2. Dean Winchester ~ Supernatural: If I wanted to go into all the things that I love about Dean, we'd also be here all day, but I have to say that the biggest quality that I love about Dean is his love for his family. It doesn't get bigger than someone who would sell his soul for you, Dean did just that. When he breaks it just about kills me.

3. Will Tippin ~ Alias: When my friend first got me into Alias, I was in it for Weiss and mostly just watching through so I could get to Rachel in Season 5. I never, ever expected to fall in love with Will Tippin. It's probably the journalist in me that relates to him as much as much as I do, but I love how connected he is to his friends, and how he will do anything to help him. Even if it only ends up with him getting an explosive in his brain and his head beeping.

4. Seeley Booth ~ Bones: If I were looking to have a guy in my life, I'd want him to be like Booth. I love his faith in the world, and in the law. I love how he cares about the people in his life, and I love how he has a dark side that he doesn't like, but he knows how to use it to protect the people he cares about. And I love the way he is with his kid.

5. Lawrence Kutner ~ House MD: Kutner was my favorite member of Ducklings 2.0. I'm still extremely pissed off about the way they handled Kal's exit from the show, but I'm not here to dwell. Mostly what I love about Kutner is the wide open way he looked at the world. He didn't eliminate possibilities just because someone said they were impossible. He has his own system of beliefs, and he stuck to them, and I love that.

Female Characters

[identity profile] iluvroadrunner6.livejournal.com 2010-08-17 03:20 pm (UTC)(link)
1. Bela Talbot ~ Supernatural: The writer's strike screwed her but I still love her. I still claim that it was love at first snark. I loved her antagonistic relationship with the boys, and I love that how regardless of what Dean and Sam may have thought of her, she still stuck to her guns and did what was best for her. She was damaged and broken, but she still managed to pull it together, even though it only got her killed in the end.

2. Angela Petrelli ~ Heroes: Angela will forever and for always be my favorite Heroes character. I loved her love for her sons and her attention to the world around them. I love how weary and jaded she was at times, and I love how she knows exactly how to tell people where to shove it when she thinks they're being idiots. She's just ... awesome.

3. Cordelia Chase ~ Buffyverse: I love Cordelia's honesty. She's just blunt and out there, and says what she thinks without thinking about how people will feel when it's over. But she's still got a heart of gold and will do whatever she can for her friends.

4. Adelle DeWitt ~ Dollhouse: I love Adelle for a lot of the same reasons I love Angela, but Adelle was a bit more human. She had her fallacies and her failings, but in the end she managed to pull herself together and be one of the fiercest women on that show. To this day, she's my favorite out of the whole series.

5. Martha Jones ~ Whoniverse: I love Martha for walking away. I love that she was able to recognize when a situation wasn't healthy for her and pull the plug. That for me, meant more than a lot of the other things that other companions have done to win me over.

Broadway Songs

[identity profile] iluvroadrunner6.livejournal.com 2010-08-14 02:34 am (UTC)(link)

1) Feel the Rain Fall ~ Parade
2) High Enough ~ Rock of Ages
3) No More ~ Tick Tick ... BOOM
4) Hair ~ Hair
5) Louder than Words ~ Tick Tick ... Boom

Mind you, this is just based off the ones that had the most plays. Because I wouldn't be able to pick otherwise.

4. Aaron: Those snow days totally beat snow days at school.
