Under the cut are spoilers for the 101st episode of CSI:NY and considerable anti-DLness and just general whining and bitching. If you don't want to know/read/know you won't agree? Don't read. If you're going to comment and berate me for not shipping D/L? DON'T. It will only make me more annoyed, and I have my reasons for not shipping them. So there.



This is all in reference to the spoilers from Ausiello concerning the Danny/Lindsay pregnancy storyline that's coming up, because Anna Belknap is having another baby.

I have to say that I'm very happy for Anna and her family and that she's having another young one. However:

1) I HATE unwed pregnancy storylines. This has nothing to do with my personal beliefs regarding the matter, it just has to do with the fact that they're EVERYWHERE. It really has to do with the show, and the two people they're choosing to have in this point. It's a crime drama. Not a soap opera. I didn't like it when Gil and Sara got together on the mothership, I don't watch this show expecting to see my ship happen. I watch it for the interaction between the characters and the friendships that they had. Now, Anna was pregnant before, and they managed to avoid making Lindsay pregnant. I understand that it's hard to work around maternity leave and explain away her leaving, but when it comes to a character who's in Lindsay's particular situation, it'd be nice to see you at least try. If you really don't want to try? Don't make the baby daddy one of the other main characters on the show. ESPECIALLY considering that history that Danny and Lindsay have.

2) Speaking OF that history -- he CHEATED ON HER. I like to ignore that little bit of canon because you know -- I like to think that Danny isn't a douche most of the time, and they [the writers] haven't mentioned it since, but if they're insisting on bringing this storyline forward, and have Lindsay pregnant, DANNY would not be the man of choice. If I remember correctly, Lindsay was relatively pissed over the whole Danny thing. I don't think she'd be letting him touch her anytime soon.

Anyway. Not that long a rant. The basic gist of this: NOT PLEASED. I don't care how "not typical" they go about it. I really don't want this on my show. End of story.

Yeah, Brad/Denise was kind of ridiculous, but at least I kind of was interested in the pairing? With Danny and Linsday -- they just don't hold the same interest for me anymore.

If they wanted 'not typical', they should have tried to do something less trite and mind-boggling. They've never given D/L more than half-assed attention and development anyway, and now they're going to have a kid? I mean really, how are they going to explain her getting pregnant without making one or both of them look bad?

Why couldn't they do what they did with Mariska Hargitay on SVU when she was pregnant with August? They had her hiding the bump behind folders and coats and headshots. Then there was the undercover FBI thing.

Exactly. They already came up with a storyline once for Lindsay that didn't involve her getting knocked up, but for some reason, they don't want to do that again. It's ridiculous.
