...I'm gonna miss Ed. I really, really, am. And I'm glad they didn't go the route of the CSI franchise, or Supernatural, or Heroes for that matter and kill him off. I'm glad he walked out of the squad room in one piece. And I'm glad that he didn't go to jail either.
That being said, I have so much love for Anthony Anderson. I think he and Lupo's dynamic is going to be very interesting. And I freakin' LOVE that he's bringing CUPCAKES to the scene next week. At first I was a little worried about the character when he first entered, because he seemed a bit too serious for the Anthony Anderson that I know and love, but different is good sometimes. It's nice to see him stretch his legs and prove that there are some acting chops in there.
I also thought Cutter and Rubirosa's role in this was really interesting. I liked the way Cutter said that he had to make himself objective through this, and I loved Connie's line about the only way Cutter notices anything is if someone does something. Which totally makes sense
*sigh* I'm really gonna miss him.

Tell me everything. Ed Green has been the only reason why I kept watching after Jerry Orbach left the show/died. =(
Law and Order: 1814: The Condensed Version
Body was found, guy who was shot by a loan shark who he owed a lot of money to for gambling. Green and Lupo take the case. They link the guy's death to the loan shark, who Green happened to know back in the day when he was a gambling addict. When the guy he knows is ID'd, he tells Lupo he has to go visit a friend in the hospital and disappears.
A little while later, Lupo is walking his dog and gets a call for a homicide. Turns out the loan shark guy was shot and killed, and that the guy who shot him was Green. Green maintains that it was self-defense, and the loan shark pulled the gun, he had to fire in response. Van Buren shows up, IAB shows up, they start working the scene.
Ed is taken into questioning by IAB, and they get him to admit that he knew where to find the loan shark because he'd been in that particular establishment before. They continue their investigation, pick up a witness who Lupo claims is a drunk with no credibility, and IAB tells him to back off. He goes off to find a witness of his own, tracks one down, finds out that Green actually owed money to the guy, and that at one point he had beat him up and threatened him with jail time in order to get out of his gambling debts. Lupo has no choice but to turn over the information, and the case is taken to the grand jury.
During the grand jury proceedings, Lupo finds enough information to discredit the drunk, but it's still enough to get Green indicted. Before the case goes to trial, it's revealed that Green took a detour to Jersey -- nobody knows why. When Lupo's witness is called to the stand, she mentions that Green asked if someone had been asking for the loan shark. Lupo finds that a little odd, goes back to the crime scene, discovers that the loan shark had been shooting at someone else, and that Green had been shooting in self defense.
He heads back to the station, picks up Anthony Anderson's character, Bernard, who is the cooler of the two IAB guys, and they decide to go investigate. They track down this girl Green knew from his gambling days, who he called at a pay phone in a gas station. Turns out the girl went into the city to find the loan shark for reasons unknown, and Green was shooting at him to protect her. Cutter and Rubirosa know that Green was shooting in self defense, but Green won't admit it for reasons unknown, so they need to find a way to get it out of him.
They do a little digging, find out that the woman he was protecting was embezzling money to pay her gambling debts. Apparently she had gotten really far in the hole, and it wasn't his debts that he kicked the loan shark's ass to get out of, it was to get her out of hers. He called her from the pay phone in order to warn her that the loan shark was getting picked up to be questioned, and that he could talk. She had gone into the city to warn the loan shark, but Loan Shark was so coked up that he didn't know left from right and thought she was sending the cops and started to shoot at her. Ed had no choice but to shoot in order to protect her.
In the end, Ed quits, because he's too tired to deal with the job anymore. He thanks Van Buren for being there for him, and he thanks Lupo for being a good cop, and he goes. And that's that.

I like Anthony Anderson's character so far. I've only seen him in K-ville so it makes sense that he's a cop.

I saw him in Transformers, and various movies, so I'm really glad he's got a show that he can't sink.
