Author's Note: Wow -- I haven't posted CSI:NY fic in a while. Anyway, just a bunny that latched on and wouldn't let go. This is also set when Angell was a uniform.

“Just so we’re clear – you approached me. You were the one that was stupid enough to let me into your room. And afterwards, you were the one that wanted to cuddle.” - Rachel Gibson

In the realm of spectacularly bad, Jess figured that this probably could have been a lot worse. Not that this, in itself was bad. In fact, it was pretty good. The rumors she had heard about this particular individual that she had initially dismissed as locker room gossip had turned out to be quite true. Not only quite true, but actually exceeding expectations a bit, but that really wasn’t the point right now. The point was that no matter how good the situation had been, it was still in the realm of spectacularly bad. Spectacularly, fantastically bad. No matter how great this situation could have been, it would still have been bad, because there was no way she was going to get past this now. Drunk sex with a superior officer always equals bad. Not matter how she may rationalize it, it was never, ever, good because it was sending her back to square one on the “Let’s try and respect me as an officer and not constantly look at me like I’m a pair of tits” path, and she didn’t exactly like it.

Though—she could probably spin this as being entirely his fault. Because, she was drunk enough that her common sense was skewed, and he was drunk enough that she wasn’t going to let him go home alone. He’d had a bad case, and she was going to make sure he made it back to his apartment and didn’t wind up passed out in some alley somewhere. So she’d gotten both of them into a cab, like a respectable friend would do, and it was in the cab that things started to go wrong. Because he was too close. And being too close to Danny Messer never ends well. At all.

Because being that close, you notice things. And hey—she was female. She was straight. She could see that he was an attractive kind of guy. But she normally wasn’t stuck in a confined space with him, where he had decided to make sure she was pressed right up against him, hip to knee, and having a relatively attractive someone that close was bound to wreak havoc on her alcohol-fuddled system. By the time they arrived at his place, and she walked him up to make sure he got to his apartment okay, he was brushing her arm and his hands were grazing places that really shouldn’t have been getting a reaction out of her, and by the time they reached his door, she wasn’t exactly in the mood to stop him when he pulled her in for a warm, heated kiss.

And now she was in his room—a place that she really never should have come into to begin with, and he was pressed up against her back, and while that was nice, it wasn’t something she had expected. She didn’t expect him to stay this close after it was over. In fact, she flat out expected for him to kick her out of bed. When that didn’t happen, she kicked herself out of bed, wrestling out of his iron grip and starting to pull her clothes back on. They were going to have to have a long, long talk about this in the morning, but until then—she was getting the hell out.

And also—whoever said Danny Messer didn’t cuddle? Was obviously getting the wrong information.

I would never ship these two, but this was well-written :) Nice job.

Actually, I'm a bigger fan of Flack/Angell, but this prompt was just calling for her and Danny.

I'm glad you liked it.

I can't ship Flack with her either. Actually, I just can't ship her at all....

I'm a big Emmanuelle Vaugier fan, and I love her character on the show.

So naturally when I love a character they tend to get a bit whorish on me. Flack's the same way -- I ship him with everyone and their mother. It's kind of bad.

See, I'm such a huge Flack/Stella shipper that I have a really hard time doing anything but loathing Angell.

I'm such a multi-shipper. I really don't see the point of OTP'ng on CSI:NY with the exception of a few select things (like Flack/food, stuff like that), because I love them all -- while there's some I love more than others, my brain can't settle on just one pairing for anyone on that show (and I write crossovers too).

And don't get me wrong, I love Flack/Stella -- but I think Flack/Angell really has a lot of potential. And they'd be really pretty together. But that's just me.

Hee. Loved it, loved it, loved it.

P.S. I'm confused now - is she Jessica or Jennifer?

[identity profile] iluvroadrunner6.livejournal.com 2008-04-13 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
She was Jennifer, or at least we all thought she was, but there have been several episodes this season where she's clearly been called "Jess". So we're assuming her name is Jessica now.

I'm glad you liked it.

*raises eyebrow* Seems a bit sloppy of them ...

(Added to which, whenever I hear 'Jess', I think of my best friend in pre-school. Not helpful!)

[identity profile] iluvroadrunner6.livejournal.com 2008-04-13 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
We thought so too, but -- *shrug*

I can't remember where she was actually referred to as Jennifer, though.

::snerk:: Absolutely loved this.
