Flack/Peyton - Company

TITLE: Company
AUTHOR: [livejournal.com profile] iluvroadrunner6
CHALLENGE: #13 - Too Much
WORD COUNT: 305
DISCLAIMER: I don’t own the characters of CSI:NY. They’re owned by CBS.
SPOILERS: Season 3
RATING: PG
CHARACTERS: Peyton Driscoll and Don Flack
AUTHOR'S NOTE: This is something that's been bumping around in my head for a while, (and because i basically ship Flack/Everyone) and I'm forcing it into drabble from because I really don't intend for this to go anywhere unless the show prompts me to, but at least it's getting out.

“I didn’t think you were the type to hang out at Sullivan’s Dr. Driscoll,” Peyton heard a familiar voice smirk from behind her, and she turned without hesitation. Flack stood behind her, and she gave him a smile.

“I’m not, usually,” she replied in her clipped accent, “I’m waiting for someone.”

“Well, if you don’t mind some company while you wait,” he said, gesturing to the empty stool next to her.

“I don’t mind at all,” she replied, before he sat down next to her. He gave the bartender a nod, and she continued, “You waiting for someone yourself, Detective?”

Flack glanced back at her at the use of the title. She gave him a smirk, “You did call me Dr. Driscoll.”

“No, Peyton,” he began, putting some emphasis on the name, “I’m not waiting for anyone.” The bartender placed a beer bottle down in front of him, and he raised it to her, “Just havin a beer after work.”

She nodded, before glancing at the door. She didn’t mind the company, but she knew that Mac wanted to keep their relationship private, so she wanted to cut him off before he ran into Flack. They weren’t necessarily worried about Flack figuring out their relationship, but there was a chance that he could. The man wasn’t a total idiot.

“So, Doc,” he said with a grin, “Who you waitin for? Hot date?”

“Nobody special,” she replied stiffly.

“Meaning none of my business,” Flack replied with a smirk. His name sounded from the other end of the bar, and he got up, grabbing his beer off the bar, “You know, Peyton, there is such a thing as too much privacy. And it usually blows up in everyone’s faces.”

Peyton watched him as he walked away, and she knew without a shadow of a doubt.

He knows.

my brain wants me to write them together. i really hate it right now.

but i'm glad you liked it.

I like the idea of them having a rather antagonistic relationship with each other, like this isn't what either of them wanted but it happened.

Damn, now I want to write them together, too.

plus they were so cute in the premiere. 'vitamins' and all.

*headdesk*

why is that man so damn shippable!?!?! gah!

[identity profile] afteriwake.livejournal.com 2006-10-16 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Because he's a nice guy, he's gorgeous, he's smart, he's gorgeous, he's witty, he's gorgeous...

That about right?

[identity profile] iluvroadrunner6.livejournal.com 2006-10-16 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
yeah, something like that.

*shakes fist at him for being so pretty*

[identity profile] afteriwake.livejournal.com 2006-10-16 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think he can help it. I think we just have to accept it.

[identity profile] iluvroadrunner6.livejournal.com 2006-10-16 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
i know he can't help it. he could stop acting so freaking cute all the time and make me want to abduct him and without thoughts of returning.

i can handle pretty. it's pretty and snarkily cute that makes me go all mushy inside.

[identity profile] afteriwake.livejournal.com 2006-10-16 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, me too. But I'm also a sucker for the "bad boy" types, which is why I ship Danny with everyone, too.

[identity profile] iluvroadrunner6.livejournal.com 2006-10-16 11:51 pm (UTC)(link)
eh...the bad boy never really got to me. i was always the pretty boy type.

except for delko. other than that, it's always been the kinda guy you would take home to mom. *shrugs*

not that danny doesn't have his own...assets...

[identity profile] afteriwake.livejournal.com 2006-10-17 12:03 am (UTC)(link)
Don't get me started on Danny. Because I could type all about his assests until my fingers go numb.

I'm really starting to like Delko again. I'm very happy about that, be cause I honestly loved him in S1 and S2.

[identity profile] iluvroadrunner6.livejournal.com 2006-10-17 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
i actually haven't seen much of s1 and 2. i should probably go rent them from somewhere.

especially considering i've seen relatively little of speedle. and he seems like a pretty cool character.

plus i heard that delko speaks russian at some point, and if him speaking spanish makes me loose coherent thought, i could only imagine what the russian would do.

[identity profile] afteriwake.livejournal.com 2006-10-17 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
I really like those seasons. Speed is a pretty cool character. And yes, Delko speaking Russian will melt you into a puddle of goo.

[identity profile] iluvroadrunner6.livejournal.com 2006-10-17 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
that seems to be the way it works...

hot boy + foreign language = brain mush.
