Summary: In the middle of a blizzard, Lindsay needs to clear her head. winter!fluff.
Author's Note: I had done winter!fluff for Flack and Lindsay, but i felt Danny and Lindsay needed the winter!fluff love too. For some reason, these two have been coming really easy to me lately.
Disclaimer: I don't own Danny or Lindsay. They're owned by CBS.
Giant white flakes swirled outside the window as Lindsay stared out into the abyss that was the city at night. She and Danny had been sitting there all night trying to get around the dead end they had in the case, and she really needed to get out and clear her head. She needed to get out, get some fresh air, and come back, ready to finish the case. She needed to—
Danny looked up when he noticed a bit of movement out of the corner of his eye. He watched as Lindsay randomly stood up, crossed the room in front of him. She grabbed her coat off the coat rack, and continued to walk right out the door.
“Monroe?” he frowned, watching her disappearing back. He then got up and started to follow her as she walked to the elevator, out of the lab, and into the streets of New York.
“What the hell?” he muttered to himself, wrapping his coat around himself before following her as she walked.
Danny watched her as she dashed into Central Park. The snow was falling so thickly he could barely see where she was, only the bright patch of color coming from the scarf she was wearing. He followed her, through the park until she stopped at and stared at the snow drifts in front of her.
He then watched in amazement as she spun around held out her arms, and landed in the snow back first. She started moving her arms back and forth and Danny stepped around her in the snow and stood over her head.
“Montana?”
She looked up at him and stopped moving, “Yeah, Danny?” She had gotten used to the nickname, no matter how much she had hated it to begin with.
“What the hell are you doing?” he asked, and she flashed him a smile.
“Making snow angels,” she replied, before continuing what she was doing.
“Why?” he asked, still standing above her.
“Helps me clear my head,” she answered, before stopping and glancing at the shape she had made around her, she then held up her hands to him, “Help me up?”
“You got two hands,” he replied.
“I don’t want to get hand prints in it,” she replied rolling her eyes. He repeated the gesture and made his way around to the walkway where her feet were. He took her hands in his and pulled her to her feet.
“Thanks Messer,” she grinned when she was finally eye-level with him. There he matched her smile with his own, when he realized how close they were. Their bodies touching, he could feel her warm breath against his face, and if he hadn’t felt the urge to kiss her before, he did now.
Seeing here every day at the lab was one of the strongest temptations he had ever experienced. He wanted to drag her into the broom closet half the time. But this wasn’t one of those times. She just looked so—cute, for lack of a better word. Her cheeks flushed from the cold, snow caught her hair, the childish sparkle in her eyes and the giant grin on her face. He just had to—
He let go of one of her hands, caught her chin with it, and wrapped her in a warm kiss. She was caught a bit off guard at first, but then she relaxed into the kiss, cold hands reaching up to cup his face, and he wrapped his arms around her waist holding her close. When she finally broke the kiss for air, she let out a deep breath, almost a sigh of relief.
“Whew,” she sighed, “If I had know that would work, I would have asked you to kiss me a long time ago.”
He laughed at that before wrapping an arm around her shoulders and leading her out of the park, “Ready to get back to the case?”
“Yeah, let’s go,” she sighed, the giant smile still plastered across her face, “I think I’ve got something.”
