Judging by how you talk you are probably from north Jersey, New York City, Connecticut or Rhode Island. Chances are, if you are from New York City (and not those other places) people would probably be able to tell if they actually heard you speak.

From Sydney, Australia ... the accents are not remotely similar as far as I can tell. I am amused.

It doesn't even matter if you're from Boston; if you live in the state of Massachusetts and root for the Yankees, you're a pariah. You have less than five friends, people beat you up and give you dirty looks on the street -- it's a rough life. You don't wanna go there.

If it makes you feel better I'm from the West Coast of Canada (Vancouver to be exact) and this quiz says I speak 'Inland North'. Apparently I'm suppose to be from Wisconsin or Chicago. Though I will admit I called carbonated beverages pop.
