Summary: Danny heads home from the hospital.

“Ready to go home, Detective Messer?” the nurse asked as she walked in the door and saw Danny dressed in his street clothes. It had been a few weeks since the incident with Sonny, and now Danny was finally ready to go home. He was still on desk duty, but he was out of the hospital, which was more than he could ask for.
“Are you kidding me?” Danny grinned, “I’ve been ready to go home for weeks.”
“Don’t I know it,” the nurse laughed, “So what are you waiting for?”
“My ride,” he sighed.
“You mean that pretty girl who wants to stay all hours with you.”
“That would be her.”
“She really is a sweetheart, Detective,” she smiled, “You got yourself a catch right there.”
“I’m well aware of that,” Danny nodded.
“Well, good,” the nurse said placing a hand on her hip, “Now you better be treating that girl right, or I’m sure you’re gonna have your ass beat down worse than it was before.”
“Most definitely,” Danny laughed.
The nurse gave him a soft smile, and they both looked up as Christina entered the room, giving him a big smile. “Ready to go?” she asked softly.
“Yeah,” Danny nodded with a grin, “I’m ready.”
“Good,” she sighed, before giving him her hand and starting to walk her out the door.

Christina opened the door and turned back to him with a smile, “Home sweet home.”
“Yeah,” Danny nodded as he came in behind her, “Home sweet home.”
She dropped her keys down on the table by the door and he came in behind her looking around the walls of her apartment. It had been a while since he had been home, and he had missed it so much. He had always hated hospitals, and the weeks that he had spent there had made him a bit stir crazy. He was happy to finally be out of there, even if he wasn’t going back to work right away.
“I missed you,” Danny said.
“I missed you too,” Christina nodded, walking back to him, and sliding her arms around his waist, “I hate sleeping alone.”
“Me too,” he nodded, returning the hug and resting his chin on top of her head.
“I’m just glad you’re OK though,” she said, pulling back and looking up at him.
“Me too,” he nodded, “I’m just glad it wasn’t you.”
Christina leaned in and gave him a quick kiss, before pulling his hand towards the bedroom, “C’mon. Be nice to sleep in your own bed.”
“Definitely,” he grinned, before following her as she lead the way.
