Christina was slightly confused when she woke up alone. She was starting to get used to waking up with someone next to her, so when she found Danny’s side of the bed cold, she was a bit upset. It was rare when Danny was up before she was, and she wondered for a minute what the occasion was, before rolling over and having a familiar scent waft her way.

Pancakes.

She grinned softly before sitting up. She slowly wrapped a bathrobe around herself and ambled out into the kitchen. The first thing she spotted was a quart of blueberries sitting on the counter, and her smile widened as she reached forward and popped one in her mouth. They were good blueberries too, just ripe enough. She heard him turn behind her, and she looked up and gave him a smile.

“Hey, you’re up,” he grinned, “I was going to make you breakfast in bed, but I guess we’re going to have to do without the bed.”

She nodded, and made her way over to him, looking over his shoulder at what he was cooking, “Do you know how long it’s been since I had homemade blueberry pancakes?”

“A long time?” he guessed.

“Very,” she nodded, slipping her arms around his chest and resting her chin on his shoulder, “Not since I left Wisconsin.”

“Really?” he nodded, “Then I guess this is long overdue then.”

“Very long overdue,” she grinned, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek.

“Well, I hope they’re up to standard,” Danny replied, turning back to the stove.

“If those blueberries are any indication, I think you’ll be fine,” she replied.

“They’re good huh?” he grinned back.

“Very,” she sighed, “Where did you get them so ripe?”

“Well, I’d tell ya—but then I’d have to kill ya,” he said, turning to give her a quick kiss, and then taking the plate of finished pancakes in his hand as he turned off the stove.

“Not fair,” she said with a grin before following him to the table. He divided up the pancakes between them, and they settled in to eat. She cut off a piece of the top ones, and popped it in her mouth, closing her eyes with a slight groan as she chewed and swallowed. Danny grinned, before glancing down at his own food.

“Good, huh?”

“Delicious,” Christina nodded, “Where did you learn to cook?”

“Trial and error,” he replied, “I picked up stuff for my mom, but most of it I learned on my own.”

She nodded slowly before swallowing, “I don’t think I’ve actually had a boyfriend who’s done the cooking before.”

“Really?” Danny smirked, “That means you cook too.”

“I do,” Christina replied slowly, “But it’s more of an eat at your own risk kinda thing.”

“I don’t think it’s that bad,” Danny shook his head.

“Danny, I gave a guy food poisoning once,” she sighed, “It wasn’t pretty.”

“I guess I’ll have to take your word for it then,” he laughed, getting halfway through his pancakes before watching her eyes drift over to the quart of blueberries still sitting on the counter. He glanced back at her for a minute, before turning back to blueberries. “What are you thinking?”

“You can have fun with blueberries,” she replied absent-mindedly.

“I thought that was strawberries,” he said, and she turned to him with a smirk.

“Strawberries are overrated,” she replied, the smirk starting to turn into a grin, as she got up and walked over to his side of the table, sliding into his lap. “You in?”

Danny looked at her for a minute, before leaning in to kiss her, “You even have to ask?”

Hey! Funny coincidence. The Danny/Christina fic I wrote for you, the one I haven't posted yet because, well... [is ashamed] Nevermind. I'm just lazy. I'll do it tonight. But! It has allusions to special aspects of lovemaking, say, with additives to the recipe. Yeahhh.

I liked this. Any guy that makes breakfast in bed for his girl is good in my book. And blueberry pancakes are my favorite, so Danny is definitely in my good graces.

*sigh* I wish I had a guy to make me breakfast in bed. But I guess that's what fic is for. At the moment anyway.

I'm glad you liked it.
