Summary: Danny is having a really good day.
Author's Note: Written fordarkmagic_luvr who gave me the prompt Danny/Sofia -> missed you. This is kinda short, but it was a lot of fun to write.

Danny was in a really good mood.
He was in better than a good mood. He was on cloud nine. Life was good and there was no reason for him not to be happy. Things were actually starting to go his way for the first time in a long time, and he was happy. The weather was good. He liked his job. He had good friends. His girlfriend was back from Vegas.
That was probably the most important one. That his girlfriend was back from Vegas.
He was practically bouncing as he was walking down the halls of the lab. He hadn’t seen her yet—the cases were backed up and things were running on all cylinders. But that didn’t really matter, the important thing was that she was back in New York, and things were starting to go his way. Because frankly, he had missed her. A lot. And if he had had his way, they would be spending the day alone together, rather than sifting through evidence on separate cases. But that didn’t matter, because at the end of the day, they were going to dinner, and they were going to spend some real quality time together. Time they hadn’t spent together in a while. And he wasn’t going to be shy about the fact that he was excited. Even if it was going to cause people to give him strange looks and wonder if he maybe had a little too much caffeine this morning.
“You OK there, Messer?” Lindsay asked as she wandered into the lab.
“I’m fantastic, Montana,” he replied, giving her a huge grin. “Is there any reason why I shouldn’t be?”
“You’re testing urine samples,” she replied, giving him a look. “Not exactly the most pleasant job in the world.”
He shrugged. “Today’s a good day.”
“Is it?” she said, surprised.
“Today is a very good day,” he nodded.
“I see,” Lindsay replied, nodding slowly before backing out of the lab again.
Danny just went back to work, and it wasn’t until a little while later when he heard a screech coming from somewhere else in the lab that he started to get a little concerned. He moved into the hall, and frowned slightly when a slime covered Sofia and Flack came walking out of the breakroom. Flack started to try and say something to her, and she brushed him off, a deep scowl on her face. Danny’s frown deepened, and started walking next to her—or at least trying to.
“Sofia, what—”
“Danny, I am really not in the mood right now.”
“But I just wanted to—”
“I do not want to talk about Vegas, or about Stella, or even about what just happened. In fact, the only thing I am going to tell you about my life between the times that we have seem each other, is the fact that I’m going to kill Ross, and there’s really nothing you can do to stop me.”
“But I—”
“Seriously, Danny—back off!”
“OK,” he replied meekly, before stopping and letting her continue to walk past him. He watched her go for a minute, before speaking up again quietly. “Missed you—?”
