It was late Sunday morning when Anna parted ways with her latest chauffer. He dropped her off on a stretch of highway somewhere near Atlanta when it was revealed that they wanted to go in completely different directions. She was glad she did, though—she hated the way he was looking at her legs and felt more comfortable on a poorly lit highway at night than she did with this guy. She shut the door and caught him grabbing one last leer at her legs before hitting the gas and burning rubber down the highway. She rolled her eyes and started walking further up the highway.

A few hours later, the sun was starting to get hot, and she wiped her brow before turning around and peering back into the sun. She had had a few cars just blaze right past her without even bothering to slow or stop. Also, today seemed to be a slow day on the highway, and there weren’t too many cars on the road. It was another half-hour before she saw another car coming her way. She could make out the wide angles of the old school Pontiac, and started waving her thumb in the air, trying to flag them down.

She grinned brightly when the car started to slow, and stopped next to the car. She went to lean in the window and flirt with the driver, when but when she saw who was inside, she froze.

They were all naked. There were a lot of them, and they were all butt naked.

“You alright there, sweetheart?” the guy on the passenger side said to her.

“I should be askin’ you guys that,” she said, eyes wide.

“Oh, we were just headin’ home from our Sunday worship and this young man held us at gunpoint and demanded all our clothing.”

“Just your clothes? He didn’t take the car.”

“Was very strange, dear, but you know, as Jesus says, turn the other cheek.”

“That’s what they teach us,” Anna nodded, before running a hand through her hair. “Well—I should let you guys head home, get some clothes on.”

“Oh, now not so fast sugah,” he said with a soft smile. “The Lord also said help those less fortunate, and you seem to be in a bit of a jam here.”

“Oh, that’s really sweet,” she nodded, placing a hand on her chest. “Really. But you guys don’t have to. I’ll be fine, really. I can take care of myself.”

“You sure?”

“Absolutely positive. I do this kind of stuff all the time.”

“Well, if you’re sure—you have a blessed day then, child.”

Anna backed off the edge of the car, and waved them off, “You too—hope things start looking up.”

The man waved to her as they drove off, and Anna waited until they disappeared before shaking her head. “Well there’s somethin’ you don’t see every day.”
