“There’s someone staking out your house,” Jake replied, stroking her back lightly. Calleigh picked her head up slightly, following his eyes out the window.

“Is there?”

“Fidgety looking guy in the front seat,” he said, nodding towards a dark haired man sitting in the pick-up truck.

Calleigh peered through the window, before nodding slowly, “Noah.”

“So you do know him?” Jake sighed.

“Yes, I do,” she nodded. Her face changed slightly when she noticed how nervous he was being.

“Want me to get rid of him?” Jake asked, and Calleigh shook her head.

“Absolutely not,” she smiled. “He’s an old friend.” She got up and pulled her shoes on, “I’ll be right back.”

She could feel Jake watching her as she jogged out to her car. She gave the man in the driver’s seat a smile as she leaned in the window.

“Long time, no see, Walker,” she grinned. “Where have you been?”

“You know Miami ain’t my kind of town, Calleigh,” he said softly. “‘Fraid I don’t got the time to catch up now though. Some pretty big shit has gone down.”

“What happened?” she frowned.

“Don’t know what exactly, but all I know is that the Roadhouse is gone. Ellen ain’t pickin’ up her phone, and neither is Bobby, so I figure it’s gotta be pretty damn big.”

“What about the Winchesters?”

“Ain’t heard diddly from then, but with the rumors flyin’ around I have a feelin’ that whatever this is, they’re right smack dab in the middle of it.”

“You headin’ up to the Roadhouse now?”

“Whatever’s left of it.”

“Gimme a minute to grab my gear and I’ll head up with you.”

“What about your job?”

“Call my boss on the way there,” Calleigh replied as she headed back towards her house. “This is important.”

“My God,” Calleigh whispered as she studied the wreckage. “What the hell happened?”

“You’re guess is as good as mine, Call,” Bobby sighed as the two of them, along with Ellen and Noah, stood in front of the wreckage of the Roadhouse. Calleigh ran her hand through her hair, before turning to Ellen.

“What about Jo? She alright?”

“Fine,” Ellen nodded. “Jo hasn’t been around the Roadhouse in a while. Took off not to long ago to do her own thing.”

“Well—at least she’s safe,” Calleigh sighed, before turning to Bobby. “Heard anything from Sam or Dean?”

“Not since we left the graveyard,” Bobby shook his head. “But they had some stuff they needed to sort out, so I figure they’ll catch up with us when they need to.”

Calleigh nodded, before turning back to the wreckage, rubbing her arms lightly, “So what exactly are we going to be dealing with?”

“The gates of hell were opened, Call,” Bobby said softly. “We got a war on our hands.”

Calleigh shifted uncomfortably for a minute, and Noah smirked slightly, “Can’t just sit around and watch this time, eh, Duquesne?”

“Guess not,” she shook her head. “But I can’t get on the road. I can’t live like that.”

“Then you stick to Miami,” Bobby sighed. “But you’re going to have to do the job.”

“I know, Bobby,” she sighed, nodding slowly. “I know.”

There was a rumble of a car behind them, and they all turned to see the Impala pulling up to the ruins. Dean and Sam both climbed out of the car, and when Dean spotted Calleigh he froze, and covered by leaning against the side of his car.

“You two should talk,” Bobby muttered. “Your friend there decided to be a bit of a dumbass.”

“I’m sure he had his reasons,” Calleigh smirked, before turning and heading over in his direction.

***

“Damn, Dean,” Calleigh sighed, before turning to look at him. They were sitting in the back seat of the Impala, and Dean had just finished telling her the events of the past few days. “You have a way out, don’t you?”

“I don’t know yet,” Dean shook his head. “But I want to be careful with this—don’t want her to think I’m reneging on the deal.”

“But you are,” Calleigh smirked.

“Yeah,” he grinned. “But she can’t know that.” Dean shrugged slightly, before looking out the window towards his brother. “Sammy’s got his brain on it, so I’m not too worried.”

“Uh-huh,” Calleigh laughed, before sliding an arm around his shoulders and giving him a kiss on the cheek. “I’m just glad you’re alright, Dean.”

“Me too,” he nodded. He hesitated for a minute, before sliding an arm around her waist. “You know, Calleigh—I only have a year to live. If there’s anything we need to say to each other—now would be the time.”

“By say,” she said, smirking slightly, moving closer to him and kneeling so that she was whispering in his ear. “You mean do, don’t you?”

Dean’s eyes widened slightly, and he nodded slightly before stammering, “Yeah, yeah—that’s exactly what I meant.”

“Well, sweetheart, I hate to break it to you—but even if you only had one day to live—” she grinned before squeezing his shoulders a little more viciously. “—You’d have to work a little harder than that.”

She slid away from him, towards the door of the car, and Dean chuckled slightly before shaking his head. “You’re still seeing that ass of a cop, aren’t you?”

“Yes, Dean,” Calleigh sighed, nodding slowly. “I’m still seeing that ass of a cop.”

You changed your Calleigh icon! ::claps:: Love seeing you use my icons...

Anyway. I think I need to go back and read more of your Dean/Calleigh stories. This one was really good. And Dean nailed Jake but good...Jake is an ass.
