Pairing Don Flack/Stella Bonasera
alphabetasoup Prompt: M is for Mischievous
Content Warning: Wet, half-naked Flack. Prepare yourself accordingly.
Summary: All Flack was looking for was someone to have dinner with.
Author's Note: Set pre-season 1, when Flack was still a uniform. How this went from Flack leaving the shower to her teasing him over his love of food, I have no idea.
Disclaimer: I don't own the characters of CSI:NY. They're owned by CBS.
Stella walked into the locker room, glad that she was finally done for the day. She was sick of idiot uniforms that were still learning how to do their jobs, sick of dead end evidence, sick of just this day in general. She marched into the locker room, and heard the sound of a shower running in the distance, but didn’t think much of it. She wasn’t going to be there long.
She heard the squeak of the shower stopping and the soft trod of feet across the tiled floor. Her curiosity suddenly got the better of her, and she poked her head out slightly to see a familiar bare back and she felt the mischievous smirk pull up at the corner of her mouth, and pulled back, hoping that he hadn’t seen her.
Don finished running a towel lazily through his hair, draping it over his shoulders as he padded his to his locker. Another towel was lazily draped around his waist, as he walked over to the metal door, searching for the clothes he had brought with him. He felt someone’s eyes on him, and although he didn’t look up right away, he knew who it was.
“Gonna have to try harder than that if you’re gonna sneak up on me, Bonasera,” he stated, shutting the door to the freezer as he turned to her. She stood there with her arms crossed in front of her chest, the same smirk sitting on her face.
“Who said I’m sneaking up on you?” she replied, “I’m just enjoying the view.”
“Are you now?” he smirked, “If that’s the case, I don’t mind if you come a little closer.”
“That’s alright, Flack,” she said, before turning back to her own locker, “I can see just fine from here.”
The smirk turned into a grin as he started to pull clothes out of his locker, and she turned to give him some privacy. She was tempted to look, she really was. It could be easily played off as an accident, but she would know better, and more importantly, he would know better. So she just waited until she heard the zip on his jeans before turning back to him, not missing for a second the mischievous glint in his eye.
“Why won’t you have dinner with me, Bonasera?” he asked, leaning against the edge of his locker.
“Maybe because I don’t date uniforms, Flack,” she said.
“Who said I was looking for a date?” he shot back, “I’m just looking for a dinner buddy. And considering you never let me nourish myself while we’re working together, I think the least you could do is share a meal with me?”
“Answer’s still no, Flack,” she stated, and he shook his head, before shutting the door to his locker, and heading towards the door of the locker room.
“Alright,” he sighed, “Well, I’m starving.”
“Surprise, surprise,” she teased, and he gave her a look.
“I’m not looking for a date, Stella,” he replied, “I’m looking for another person who enjoys good food to come with me to eat so I can have some decent conversation.”
“You talk when you eat, Flack?” she stated, still teasing him, “Usually you have to clean your plate first.”
“It’s nice to have someone to talk to while you’re waiting for the food, Stella,” he continued, starting to be more annoyed than amused. She didn’t know why she was giving him such a hard time about this, but she was. The only thing she could do was hope that he wasn’t going to start taking it too personally.
“Well, I’m gonna head out,” he sighed, starting to back toward the door. He turned around and was about to walk out the door, when Stella’s voice came from behind him.
“Hey, Flack?”
“Yeah?” he said, hoping that he didn’t sound as hopeful as he thought he did.
“You gonna die of starvation if you give me ten minutes?” she said, giving him a smirk over her shoulder, and he grinned.
“No,” he said, “I can do that.”
“Good.”
