OK. So. I finally caught up with the rest of the world and finished reading Harry Potter.
I kinda loved this book.
First of all, my friend Jasmine totally called the Harry-is-the-7th-horcrux thing, but I was able to call a lot of things about this book in advance, so that's besides the point. This book made me laugh and smile, and cry, and it's probably the only one it the series that's done that, and is probably why it's my favorite book out of all of them.
The twins though! Oh man, I had been slightly spoiled for Fred's death, so I knew it was coming, and that wasn't the thing that made me cry. It was after George had gotten his ear blown off, and he was cracking jokes about how he was feeling saintlike. That was what got to me. I think knowing who died in the end made me appreciate some of this stuff more than I had.
I had so much love for Neville in this book. And Luna. And Ginny. And everybody really. No one really pissed me off. Except for Voldemort (technically). And I loved the lore that Rowling set up in this book. The whole idea of the Deathly Hallows and the powers behind them really interested me. Although, right off the bat I thought that the Sorcerer's Stone was the Resurrection Stone, but I guess I was wrong.
This book just seemed like a really fitting end to the series for me. And although it didn't end in the way I expected/wanted it to (I thought Harry was going to be the one to die in the end), I still liked the ending quite a bit.
The twins have definitely solidified their standings as my favorite characters though. By a long shot.

and i think Snape proved himself as an awesome, under-utilized, underrated character, too.

And yes, I'm glad that Snape redeemed himself in the end. While so easy to hate him, I'm glad that they tied up all the lose ends.

oh yeah, i'm glad the loose ends got tied up too!
