Meme Catch-up!
These are left over from the Three Interests Meme:
Rent - I adored RENT first and foremost for music. It's one of the best musicals I've ever seen/heard/witnessed, and it was the thing that caused me to worship Jesse Martin. I own the original Broadway soundtrack, the DVD, and I squee like an idiot whenever I hear that any memeber of the original cast is going to be in anything. (I flipped out when I saw that Adam Pascal was in "School of Rock." And I got the Aida soundtrack because of him and Heather Headly.
Nick Potter - See Here.
Conviction - Conviction is a now defunct TV show that features the ADA mentioned above, Nick Potter. I originally watched the show for Eric Balfour, who played Brian Peluso, and I absolutely loved it--and was very angry with NBC for killing it. And I very much wish it would come back.
singing in the shower - See here.
House - Why do I love House. Because he's Hugh Laurie plays him so amazingly, and he's so much more complicated than a giant asshole. He feels a lot more than he lets on, and while the character may never admit it, Laurie lets it on so well in his acting. And he doesn't have some kind of change of heart when things go to shit. He's consistent, even if he is an ass, and that is why I love him.
acting - I love acting because its so much fun just becoming another person. Because, frankly, I'm really boring. When I get to become that other person, and take on their persona, I'm interesting. I have things to say and I experience thing through them that I don't think I could have experienced otherwise. And the fact that it's amazingly fun.
showtunes - See here.
Eko - Eko was one of the "Tailies" on LOST, who was amazingly complicated. He was a drug runner, yet amazingly religious, and he saw the island as his second chance somewhat. He's another very cool character who's death Locke also somewhat orchestrated. (*seethes* Hate--Locke.) I miss him and his stick covered in scripture. Quite a bit.
singing in the shower - See above.
And then there was this one, which was the same, but kinda different--Comment and I will give you 3 interests on your list, and 3 icons, for you to explain.
Billy Desmond - Billy Desmond is also from the defunct show Conviction, but he's a bit cooler than Nick Potter. He was politics driven, and insanely smart, but he could be a complete fuck up in things outside the courtroom. Plus, J. August Richards played an incredibly smooth character, so you learned to forgive his fuck-ups.
Horatio Caine - Horatio Caine from CSI: Miami is only on my interests list for one reason--the Sunglasses of Justice. I swear, that character can't do anything without a giant dramatic pause, and then placement of the sunglasses. That was what amuses me the most about him--that and the fact that every woman he seems to come in contact with in a romantic way dies a tragic death. It's kinda sad.
Stella Bonasera - Stella is from CSI:NY. I like Stella because of her spunk. I love the way she interacts with Flack, Danny and Hawkes, and to an extent, Mac. I'm not really a Mac fan, but she makes him seem almost human at times, and that's nice to see.
- I love Abby from NCIS. She's got a really interesting dynamic with the entire cast, and I love seeing her as she bounces around on screen. I especially liked this icon for her, because I love the way the coloring was done. I'm always a sucker for a black and white with splashes of color.
- I love Greg from CSI. He was the first lab tech I actually really loved, and I was kinda depressed when they moved him to the field because he started getting less screentime. I picked this icon because I was looking for a new Greg icon, and I thought the coloring was pretty.
- This is actually a quote from one of my fics, Long Time Ago (CSI:NY). In the fic, Lindsay and one of my OCs, Jake McCallahan, get stuck in an elevator, and while they're waiting to get out, they start swapping old college stories. I had written the fic originally for
goddess_loki and when she read it, she asked me if she could ask
pepsi_boyfriend to make a quote icon of it. I said yes, she did, and voila!
Carmen Ghia - Carmen Ghia is Roger DeBris' fabulously gay assistant from The Producers. I love him for all his little quirks and sayings. The things that he does. The way he's insanely jealous of Leo because he knows Roger's got a thing for him--I just absolutely adore their relationship.
Las Vegas - I love this show because the cast is, first of all, the insanely pretty cast, and the insanely pretty cast has amazing chemistry together. It's my guilty pleasure show, mostly, where every thing is over the top and overly done, but unlike certain shows (*coughCSI:Miamicough*), it's so well done that you don't notice it's overdone. Plus, Sam Marquez kicks ass.
Sun - I love Sun from LOST because she's one half of Sun/Jin, who is probably one of the most adorable couples I've ever seen, despite all the angsting. She's trying to teach him English and Jin is all cute with his Jinglish. And everyone on the island underestimates her so much because of how she presents herself, and I especially love it when she shows up Sawyer. That's always fun.
- This is my icon for my cracktastic CSIverse/Everworld crossover. Everworld is a sci-fi/fantasy book series written by KA Applegate about how the pagan gods of ages past created an alternate dimension for themselves once the people of Earth stopped really believing in them. It's pretty much chaos upon chaos, and I started writing a crossover between the two worlds. It's slow going but I plan on finishing it--sometime anyway.
- "Born Under a Bad Sign" was one of my very favorite episodes of Supernatural. Jared Padalecki blew me away by playing evil!Sam so incredibly well that it made a very lasting impression. That scene between him and Jo was very hot well done, and that was probably my favorite quote from the whole thing. So when I saw this icon, I naturally had to grab it.
- Colby/Megan is one of my favorite Numb3rs ships. I love the little banter between the two of them, and how they interact with each other, and Colby's total disbelief over the fact that Megan is with Larry. They're very cute.
Rent - I adored RENT first and foremost for music. It's one of the best musicals I've ever seen/heard/witnessed, and it was the thing that caused me to worship Jesse Martin.
