“Well. I think out of all the situations we have been in, this is certainly the most interesting.”
Fiona was sprawled out on the one cot in the room, while Eliot and Michael were sitting on opposite ends, backs to the walls and staring at each other. They weren’t happy stares. They were very, very angry stares. She propped her head up on her hand, glancing between the two of them for a moment before sighing heavily.
“Come now, boys. Keep staring at each other like that and a girl might start to get jealous.”
“Not now, Fi,” Michael sighed, keeping his gaze on Eliot. Eliot’s fingers flexed against his knee, meeting Michael’s gaze evenly. “This is all your fault.”
“My fault? You’re the one who couldn’t stick to the damn plan!”
“How the hell am I supposed to work with a guy who I can’t trust?”
“Let’s be honest, Michael, the only one here having a problem trusting Eliot is you,” Fiona sighed. “I actually rather like him.”
“He’s a bad guy, Fi.”
“Not anymore,” Eliot snarled. “I help people.”
“Oh, and that makes it better?”
“Not helping! Either of you!” Fiona sat up with a frustrated noise. “I know you both have your issues. I understand that. But unless your personal beef with each other is going to get us moving and out of this town, I suggest you let it go and start to use your brains instead.”
They both managed to glance from each other for a moment to look at her, before turning back to each other again. “She’s right,” Eliot muttered.
“I know,” Michael grumbled.
“At least you two can agree on that.” She rolled her eyes, before pushing to her feet. “Alright. I think it’s about time we rescued ourselves. Where did I put my C-four … ”
