Author's Note: For
liannis. This is probably going to explode into some kind of multi-part epic at some point, but I want to finish my other Supernatural crossover epic first. I just wanted to test it out, and see how it would write. I also have a very strong urge to write a side fic with Ducky and Palmer finding out they had one extra body.
Disclaimer: I don't own the characters of NCIS or Supernatural. They're owned by CBS and the CW.
McGee was hauling in the last of the evidence from the case, when he spotting it sitting in the parking lot of NCIS headquarters. The shiny black hood of the car winked back at him and he groaned. They had to show up here of all places. Walking over to the car, he could see Dean sitting in the driver’s seat, but was surprised to see a much younger man than John Winchester sitting in the passenger’s seat.
“How ya doin’, McGee?” Dean grinned, and McGee just looked past him to the other man in the car.
“Who are you?”
Dean looked confused for a second, before it clicked, “Oh! This is my brother, Sam. He wasn’t with me the last time.” He studied the look on McGee’s face for a second, and the confused look reappeared, “You don’t look happy to see us.”
“I can’t believe you guys showed up here,” McGee hissed.
“We thought you had a problem that was more our kinda gig,” Dean replied, and McGee just continued to glare at him.
“So you show up here?”
Dean and Sam just gave him a look from where they were sitting. “Is there somewhere else we should have shown up?”
“Well, you guys have all the evidence,” Sam sighed, “What are we supposed to do? The guy was killed in his car—that you have.”
“So we kinda hafta go inside, in order to figure out if this is our kind of problem,” Dean finished, giving the man a look, “Besides—I wanna see Abby.”
McGee considered this for a moment, before relenting, “Fine. But be cool, alright?”
“Alright, let’s go,” Dean nodded, starting to open his car door, but found himself stopped by McGee. “Dude—move!”
“Wait,” McGee replied, looking around cautiously, “I can’t sneak you both in there.”
“Fine,” Dean replied, “Sam, stay here and watch the car.”
“Who says you get to go?” Sam protested.
“I agree,” McGee said, not wanting to spend anymore time with Dean than he had to.
“Well, I was friends with them first,” Dean replied, “You haven’t even met Abby yet.”
“So I automatically have to sit in the car?”
“You know what, fine,” Dean said reaching into his pockets, “We’ll flip for it.”
“I got it,” McGee replied, pulling out a quarter, “Call it in the air.”
Dean called heads and both brothers watched as the coin flipped up into the air and McGee caught it.
“Tails.”
“Stay here and watch the car, Dean,” Sam gloated, as he went to get out of the car.
“But I wanna see Abby,” Dean whined, before starting to pout. He watched as the two men walked back towards NCIS headquarters, and shook his head.
“Dude, this sucks.”

McGee led Sam through the halls of NCIS as quickly as possible, hoping to get him downstairs to Abby before anyone noticed him, but apparently, he had no such luck.
“Hey! Slow down there, Probie,” Tony said as he caught up to the two of them a cup of coffee in his hand, “Who’s this?”
“This?” McGee said, turning in surprise slightly to Sam, trying to think quickly, “This—this is Sam.”
“Hi,” Sam replied.
“—He’s—uhh—he’s one of Abby’s new—”
“Interns,” Sam finished for him and McGee cringed.
“Interns?” Tony froze looking back and forth between McGee and Sam, “Interns are bad, McGee. Why is Abby getting an intern?”
“Well, they kinda forced me on her,” Sam said, giving his most apologetic smile, “Government’s kinda pushy that way.”
“Do they know what happened the last time we had an intern?” Tony asked.
“Well, this guy’s a friend of hers, so I don’t think we’re gonna have the same problem,” McGee covered, and Tony still eyed Sam uncomfortably.
“I’m keeping an eye on you, Sammy,” Tony said, before turning to walk away.
“Actually—Actually, it’s Sam!” Sam shouted after him.
“Whatever you say, Sammy.”
“He never listens,” McGee replied, “You’re just wasting your breath.”
“What was that even about?” Sam asked, as they turned and continued walking.
“Our last intern tried to frame Tony for murder,” McGee replied.
“Ah—so ‘intern’ was a bad cover,” Sam sighed, “Sorry bout that. I’m just used to thinking on my feet.”
“Don’t worry about it,” McGee replied, as they got on the elevator, “He’ll get over it before he drives all of us insane—hopefully.”

Dean drummed his fingers against the steering wheel of the car as Metallica blared through the speakers. He was bored out of his skull. He didn’t understand why Sam got to go instead of him. He was Abby’s friend first. McGee probably rigged the stupid coin toss so that Dean would lose. He never did get along with McGee.
His eyes wandered over to where the medical examiner’s van was parked. He watched as an pair of men with glasses, one older than other, moved body bags in and out of a the van. A smirk crawled up the side of his face, and he turned off the car, before climbing out and making his way over to the van.

Sam walked into the lab to find a tall, goth-esque woman standing there in a lab coat, working at a computer. He blinked at her in surprise.
“That’s Abby?” he asked.
“That’s Abby,” McGee smiled. The woman turned at the sound of the voices and gave them a smile.
“There you are, McGee. What took you so long?”
“Ran into an old friend in the parking lot,” McGee replied, and she turned, interested.
“Really? Who?” She noticed Sam, and looked slightly, “Who’s this?”
“This is Dean’s brother, Sam.”
“Dean’s brother, Sam?” she frowned, “Where’s Dean?”
“He had to wait in the car,” McGee replied.
“That sucks,” Abby sighed, “I haven’t seen him in a while. I miss him.”
“Yeah, well,” McGee swallowed, “It’s a shame.” Abby gave him a look before turning to Sam.
“So—think this case has got something mysterious and spooky involved?”
“That’s what we’re thinking,” Sam replied.
“So what’s your cover?” Abby asked, “NCIS, CIA, DHS—”
“College intern,” Sam replied.
“College intern?” Abby frowned, before it hit her, “My intern?” Sam nodded and Abby cringed, “That’s not going to go over well with DiNozzo.”
“They’ve already met,” McGee replied.
Abby shrugged, “Oh well. So—you want me to check for traces of sulfur and stuff on the evidence?”
Sam looked at her surprised, and she grinned, “Last time we ran into Dean and your dad, he taught me a bit about hunting.”
“I taught her everything she knows,” a voice came from the doorway, “I’m very proud.”
The three of them turned and Abby’s face lit up when she saw who it was. “Dean!” she grinned before running over and wrapping her arms around his neck.
“Hey, Abs,” he grinned, “You look good.”
“So do you,” she nodded, “McGee said you had to wait in the car.”
“Please—like I was gonna pass through DC and not see you,” he said, walking with her over to the computer.
“How did you get in the building?” McGee asked, an amazed look on his face.
“I snuck in through the morgue, dude,” Dean replied, before leaning over the table, glancing down at the evidence, “Running everything for DNA and prints?”
“Yup.”
“It might be our kind of problem.”
“I’ve already added sulfur to the list for the GCMS,” Abby replied, and Dean nodded.
“Sounds good. And in case this isn’t our kinda thing, there’s a bit of trace over there.” He pointed it out to her, and she nodded before going to collect it. Sam just gave Dean a look. “What?” his brother frowned.
“Do you even know what you’re talking about?” Sam asked.
“I taught her about hunting; she taught me about forensics,” Dean replied.
“And it actually stuck,” Sam shook his head, “Amazing.”
“Shuddup.”
“Abby! What have you got?” Tony’s voice echoed down the stairwell again, and he looked at Dean, confused, “Who’s this?”
“That’s the—other intern,” McGee replied.
“How ya doin’?” Dean grinned, “Name’s Dean.”
“You left out the fact that there were two of them, McGeek,” Tony replied, and Dean hesitated, a wicked grin crossed his face.
“McGeek,” he said, before pausing for a moment, “I like that. I think I’m gonna call you that from now on.”
“I really wish you wouldn’t,” McGee replied.
“Be nice, Dean,” Abby scolded lightly, and Dean’s grin only widened.
“Me? I’m always nice. Especially to McGeek.”
McGee could already feel the headache growing behind his eyes, that usually came when he was dealing with Dean Winchester. He rubbed his temples slightly, before going back to work with what was on the computer. It was going to be a very, very long day.
