Dean and Hurley - Dude
Dude, the LOST characters and the SPN characters need to stop wanting to converse with each other. Jeez. And is anyone else not getting alerts.
Fandom: Supernatural/LOST
Title: Dude
Author:
iluvroadrunner6
Rating: FRT/PG-13
Characters: Dean Winchester, Hugo "Hurley" Reyes
Content Warning: Vague spoilers "Tricia Tenaka is Dead" (LOST)
Summary: Dean meets a guy in a chicken hat who really likes his car.
Author's Note: Set pre-series for both. Hurely and Dean are going to talk again. I just have to decide if it's going to be part of the Kate Escape series. This is also not long at all, just a quick blip of a moment between the two of them.
Disclaimer: I don't own the characters of LOST or Supernatural. They're owned by ABC and the CW. However, any and all original characters are mine, so please don't use them without my permission.
“Dude—that is an absolutely kickass car.”
Dean looked up and saw a large man wearing a bright red and yellow shirt and a hat with a chicken on it staring at his car. He returned the stare for a minute, but the man didn’t hold his gaze, and just stared at the car. There was a long pause before the man started speaking again.
“Sixty-seven Impala, right?” the man continued, moving towards him, drinking in the lines of the car like he had found water in the desert. “It’s in awesome shape, man. Must be a helluva lot of work.”
“Yeah, well—” Dean shrugged. “—Not so bad when you love it.”
“True that, man,” the guy grinned. “True that.” He then extended a large hand towards the other man, and Dean shook it. “I’m Hurley.”
“Dean. You know cars?”
“It was a thing me and my dad used to do,” Hurley nodded. “We had this old Camaro we were rebuilding, but—we never really got a chance to finish.”
Dean nodded, running his hand over the hood of the Impala. “Yeah—my dad gave her to me once I started heading out on my own. I remember looking at her growing up and thinking she was never going to be mine, but when he gave me those keys—” The smile on his face widened.
Hurley grinned. “Yeah, I can imagine. You take amazing care of her.”
“I do my best,” he nodded. “Can’t always get what you need on the road.”
“You travel a lot?”
“Yeah—my work requires it.”
“Well she’s in great shape,” Hurley replied, running his hand over the edge of the roof of the car. “Keep up the good work.”
“I will,” Dean nodded with a grin. Hurley gave him a last smile, before glancing down at his hand.
“Oh, sorry dude,” he said before handing him the brown paper bag. “You forgot your Hot and Spicy Barbecue wings.”
“Oh,” Dean nodded before taking them from him with a grin. “Thanks.”
“No problem,” Hurley nodded. “Thanks for eating at Mr. Cluck’s Chicken Shack. Have a good day.”
“You too, man.”
