01. Where and when did you start RPing?
Oh, it's about four years ago now? I started off with an OC named Riley Toth in
02. Do you RP anywhere other than LJ?
AIM. I actually love AIM RP for times when my brain is broken and doesn't want to work. I also abuse GDocs like crazy, but those, with the exception of the crack --
03. Do you play in any public games?
I'm over at
04. Do you prefer first-person comment spam or prose logging?
It depends on the RP? Like, if it's just a conversation that needs to be had, or just something simple, I'm totally cool with first person? But prose logging has it's benefits too. It depends what the muse wants to do.
05. What was the first character you ever played?
Riley Toth. And he's still my baby, even if he's gotten really quiet on me.
06. Who's your favorite character to play now and why?
Bela Talbot. I was originally going to say it was a toss up between the two Winchesters, but it's not. It's Bela. She's complicated, but she's fun, and she's never going to react the same way to something twice, which always makes things interesting. She's unpredictable, and that's what makes her fun to play.
07. What's the longest you've ever consistently played one character?
Probably Riley. I was in SIU for about three years, thereabouts. He got kind of quiet towards the end, but that was no fault of his, just -- circumstances.
08. What's your biggest RP pet peeve?
What makes me stabbity? Dishonesty. I don't like being lied to. Or having my characters manipulated. There was a situation in SIU that combined the two of them which was probably one of the biggest reasons for me leaving. (And none of those involved are on my flist anymore, so I feel like I can rant about it.) I mean, okay. I'll admit that my characters, on occasion, have not been the greatest partners in the world, and I try to gear them in the right direction, but I'll at least be honest about why I wanted to end a relationship. I won't have them end a relationship for one reason and tell the mun that, but really have it be just to free up your character so that you can write a different ship with your best friend. That's not fair and it gives me headaches and makes me want to kill things. I guess it all really boils down to a lack of communication, but I think this is a bit more specific than that.
09. Do you read RP!S and the RP anon meme?
Only when I'm linked to them. I can never find RP!S when I'm looking for it, and the RP anon meme is such wanky bullshit, to be honest. At least, that's the way I see it. Personally, I think it's just an excuse for people not to communicate.
10. If you've played in public before, do you prefer community-based or journal-based games?
I'm not picky. I think communities can make things a lot more organized, but I don't mind doing journal based stuff either. Either way, it can be fun.
11. Would you rather play with someone who's very very IC but a mediocre writer or someone who isn't always IC (but not terrible) and a great writer?
I ... don't get the question? Personally, characterization is all that matters to me when it comes to RP. I mean, yeah, grammar and spelling are important but they're fixable. God only knows that my grammar can be atrocious. (I have pronoun dyslexia. Seriously.) If you've nailed your character, that's good enough for me.
12. Do you have an RP partner?
I play a lot with
13. Do you stalk any casts, games, or players? Who?
Oh, definitely. Though recently I've had to cut down on my stalking for time constraint reasons, but I do. Like,
14. In your opinion, which part of an app is the most difficult/annoying?
Personality, especially when there's a word count. Most of the time I just want to throw my hands up and go "She's Cordy! What do you want from me!?!" (I actually did do that when I was apping her to Para.) It's mostly because I don't know how to explain it. So I mostly listen to the original writers for the character when they were on the show giving commentaries, mostly because it helps me find the words to explain how those apply to my version of the character.
15. Are you one of those people who has to customize their character's journal layout and userinfo?
Eh. Kind of? I like headers, but I'm really lazy about userinfos, and it's not a major thing for me? I'm better with the words.
16. What was your first game?
17. Are there any canons you avoid tagging characters from?
Canons, specifically? No? It depends on the circumstances. Like -- the SPN crew at
18. Most memorable scene in any thread?
I honestly don't know. I mean, I've had some favorite threads and stuff I like to go reread, but I can't really say any of it is "most memorable." Like I've had scenes with Dean that have had me crying at three in the morning because the boys decided to break me, and I've had stuff with Dean and Sam that have just made me laugh hysterically. It depends on the day.
19. Do you RP sex?
Yes? Well. It depends on who I'm writing it with. I generally play with what my RP partner is comfortable with, but I don't think I'm particularly good at it? The more comfortable I am with you, the more likely I am to do it.
20. Do you play more males or females?
It actually kind of depends on what I'm doing. I used to play a whole mess of boys. Like when I was initially playing in
21. What won't you RP?
I have issues with slash. Writing it, not it existing. If your brain works that way, great for you, but my brain just doesn't go that way? I have an easier time with femmeslash, but when it comes to the guys, it really depends on who they are and what I've seen in canon, and the way the character's formed in my head. I can't just swing them towards a muse on a whim. I have to be able to see it, and I can't always.
22. Dressing rooms: yes or no?
I don't get them, personally?
23. Ever RPed a pairing?
*points to icon* Yup. All the time.
24. Favorite place to play: musebox, open posts, public games, private games?
I like open posts, and I like private games. And I like crack.
25. Talking RP with someone who plays your character: fun or awkward?
It depends. Because people can see characters very different ways, and that can get awkward? And while I am always open to seeing other people's points of views, I'm a firm believer in every writer's got a different perspective, and while I may agree that Sam does this, this and this, my Sam might not do that. It's a matter of interpretation, and that's what makes RP fun.
