Will someone please tell me why my father insists on watching a news program where he clearly thinks all involved are hacks?

Anywho, it's been a long twenty-seven hours. Last night, I worked the midnight show for The Dark Knight (we had to open FIVE screens for this movie. Two of them between the hours of six and ten-thirty when we were sold out completely. I think all and all we had 952 people in our biggest theaters (which only really hold 300 people at most, so they're not really big at all)). I got home around 1:30, went to sleep, and then got up 7:45 to be at work by 8:30 and got off at fiveish. It was insanity. It really, really was.

That being said, please, please cut your spoilers for Dark Knight. I probably won't be able to see it for a few weeks, and I really don't want to be spoiled beyond whether you liked it or not.

HEATH!!!! He was fucking amazing. A beautiful final performance.

HEEEE -- I'm seeing it after my brother gets back from camp. And I'm trying so hard not to spoil myself which my job is making really difficult. They had me do theater check and I had to walk in with my hand blocking the screen so I couldn't see what was going on.

Uh oh. That's not good.

I think -- they just have different directions. And eventually he's going to realize that their relationship isn't going to bring him closer to the direction he wants to go.

You know, like how she says she's not getting married? Deep down he wants the family unit and the church wedding, just like his parents had, but he wants it to be something she wants, not something that he has to talk her into, ya know?

As I said -- it's complicated. But he'd still be friendly/there for her/etc even though they're not together in that capacity.

Deep down, Anna does want to get married. Planning Maria's wedding is hard for her because it brings up those feelings of wanting to settle down and have a family. She's Italian, after all. If they sat down and he asked her about it or they got on the topic of that, she'd admit to it.

Mostly, Anna's just scared that even mentioning it around him will scare him off. Because they're not even living together or anything. If you're available to RP in AIM sometime, that would be great.

Even if the did talk it out -- I don't really think it'd change his mind. He feels like the relationship is dragging, and while he puts more blame on work than anything else -- it's just not easy. He thinks that when it came down to it, that's what it should be.

It's not regret so much as realization. He doesn't think they're meant to last forever -- or he's starting to think in that direction.

Anna's view is that no relationship is ever going to be easy. Because it's never a fairytale. Even the people who are perfect for each other (like she thinks Danny and Buffy are) have to sacrifice and fight to be together to some degree. She's learned that if it's easy, it's not real.

But she sees the dragging too and she's beginning to brace herself for the inevitable. She keeps trying and trying to pick them up but she feels like it's failing. So she's putting the blame on herself because that's how she works.

And with Maria's wedding being in September, depending on when it happens, it'll be really hard for her.

He's not expecting a fairy tale. But he's expecting it to go through some -- phases? -- that he and Anna really missed or got jumbled around, and it's throwing him for a loop a bit. He just wants a happily ever after that he doesn't constantly have to work for -- only every once in a while.

Aww, poor thing. She sounds kind of like Danny in that respect. SIU!Danny, anyway, because he's heard that speech a few too many times.

Eek. Yeah, that would be really hard.

Yeah, and Anna wants the same thing.

Yeah, she tends to be like Danny in that respect.

Oh, it'll be fun. And Nina will be the poor thing stuck in the middle of her partner and friend. As will Danny. And Angell, Adam, Lindsay... yeah. Our poor kids.
