Dean/Bela - A Man Like Him
Fandom: Supernatural
Title: A Man Like Him
Author:
iluvroadrunner6
Rating: FRT
Characters: Bela Talbot, mentions of Dean Winchester.
spn_het_love Challenge: First Impressions
fic_variations Prompt: Cold (#6)
our_magic_place Prompt: 3a
Content Warning: Spoilers for 303: Bad Day at Black Rock.
Summary: He was a rather attractive idiot, if she had to say so herself.
Author's Note: Ummm -- I haven't answered an
spn_het_love challenge in a while and felt I should. And it's not really close to five hundred words, but since I've technically completed my
fic_variations claim for her, I figured I'd throw it in there anyway.
Disclaimer: I do not own the characters of Supernatural. They're owned by the CW. However, any and all original characters are mine, so please do not use them without my permission.
“A) You can never go too far. B) If I'm gonna get busted, it is not gonna be by a guy like that.” - Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Upon first impressions, she thought both Winchester boys were idiots. From the things she had heard, she knew they were good at what they did, but regardless—they were idiots. Though considering her first meeting with them was in the middle of a job, she should have expected them to seem idiotic—her marks usually did—but she was going to chalk it up to her first impression of them nonetheless.
Most people would have probably warned her that stealing from their father was going a bit too far. But then again, she was a firm believer in the fact that you could never go too far.
Her first impression of Dean, though, when he came to her apartment and took the foot back from her, was quite different. He was rather a rather attractive, idiot, if she had to say so herself. Dean would be her kind of guy if their interests had been a little more aligned—maybe even made a decent partner, if she were the kind of a thief to work with a partner. He knew the territory, was good with a gun, and was almost as good as she was at conning people into doing things for her benefit. He had one tiny character flaw, though—he was far too noble, chasing after a purpose that was never going to be accomplished. So, before he could do anything about it, he was reverted back to idiot status—
—until he managed to get the rabbit’s foot out from under her nose and used the luck to put a lot of bullet holes in her apartment. Then he wasn’t looking quite as big an idiot as before. But that was all irrelevant, really. She wasn’t going to let an upset like that top her.
Not from a man like him.
