OC Backstory - Valerie Malone
yes, another oc. leave me alone. i like 'em.

Actual Person: Krista Allen, actress
Age: 33
Grandparents: Arthur (deceased) and Catherine Malone
Parents: Benjamin Sr. and Beverly Malone
Siblings: Angela and Benjamin Jr. Malone
Children: Jeremey Eppes (with Don Eppes)
Valerie Malone was born into a wealthy upper class family in Manhattan. The oldest of three, she always pushed herself to do well in school, and while she was a very bright student, she picked up easier on the more straight-forward subjects, such as math and sciences, than she did on the more abstract ones, such as English. She got good grades, graduating in the top ten percent of her class from her high school, one of the prestigious New York city prep schools. She went on to New York University to major in finance and accounting, intent on working in the financial end of her father's business when she graduated. Throughout high school and through the early years in college, she actually worked in her father's company, becoming increasingly familiar with the different financial paperwork, and the ins and outs of how a business worked. However, that interest soon transferred to business law, and then the idea of transferring to criminal justice all together, developing a strong interest in working white collar crime. She moved on to Quantico after college, intending to work for the white collar division of the FBI.
Her strong knowledge of business finance made her an asset to the offices, however when she started working in New York, she found it extremely difficult to get out from under the weight of her father's name. Because the Malones were such a presence in the city, she was often not taken seriously as an agent, thinking her father had practically payed her way to getting her hired in the building. She worked hard and performed well, but her fellow agents still wouldn't treat her with the respect that they treated everyone else. Frustrated with the situation, her boss offered her an out to transfer to the white collar division in Los Angeles, where it was less obvious she was her father's daughter.
In LA, Val thrived as an agent, and was soon given her own team to lead. She, however, because of her height, found it hard to get some of her agents, who were much taller than she was, to pay attention. She had always had a vicious temper, and she found herself losing it more often around her agents. However, her coworkers didn't hate her for it. She never lost her temper without a reason, and they all avoided pissing her off like the plauge. However, none of them ever stood up to her for it. They just took it, then walked away.
Over the years she was in LA, she somewhat lost communication with her sister, who was also working to become an agent. When David Sinclair, who she knew was Angie's old partner, showed up in LA, Val was surprised, but she and David barely saw any off each other, because they worked in different divisions. However, she soon heard through the office grapevine that her sister was going in undercover in the very voliatle Ivan Alexandrov case, and she, naturally, was upset. She charged down to the homicide division to talk to the person in charge, and where she ran into an equally pissed off Don Eppes.
At first glance, it's usually pretty obvious that Val and Angie are indeed sisters. They are both very similar in both height and appearance, however that is where the similarities end. Unlike her sister, Val is very logical and straight-forward. She's a lot easier to work with, because unlike Angie, where thoughts go from A to Z to M, for Val A is actually followed by B. She's extremely grounded, and has strong common sense, except when she's overly emotional. She has a very strong temper, which is usally most evident when she feels she's not getting the respect she deserves. While Angie will usually wear flats on a day to day basis, Val is almost always in heels, to help balance out the height issue between her and her coworkers.
Also, obviously, she is very quick with numbers. She knows her ways around business finances and can often pick out inaccuracies faster than a forensic accountant can. It comes more with familiarity than high brain function, but that does make her an asset to those she works with. She also is very quick with the jargon, because she feels its easier to navigate through conversations if everyone is speaking the same language.
