After spending four plus hours getting very thoroughly reacquainted with Julius Caesar, as well as Caesar and Mark Antony as characters, I have come to the conclusion that should they make a movie of Julius Caesar before he gets to be too old, Jensen Ackles should so totally play Mark Antony. Because we all know that he can handle the layers. Other than being a young military stud that spent most of his free time sucking up to Caesar, Antony was a fiercely loyal character, who used that fierce loyalty to hide his own hidden agenda. Antony has layers. We all know that Jensen can handle layers.

And this is completely separate from the totally shallow fact that Jensen would look ridiculously hot in ancient Roman battle gear? Right?

In my head at this point, Dean Winchester = Modern Day Mark Antony. Except more self-depriciating and not as calculating, but otherwise they're basically the same.

In other fandom news, CSI: Miami is completely losing me this season. I'm gonna watch tonight, and if this epsiode doesn't hold my attention I think I'm going to drop it from my viewing schedule. I just don't have the patience to put up with David Caruso when the cases aren't even the focus of the show anymore. And Ryan is the only character I still like -- other than Alexx and Valera, and sometimes Natalia -- but they're really not enough to get me to stick around.

I don't like the way they've been taking Calleigh's character lately. I think I want to drop out now before I really start hating her and don't want to write her anymore.

Dude. You need to see Julius Caesar, the mini-series with Chris Noth as Pompey and Jeremy Sisto as Caesar. I don't think Antony is in the movie at all, but it's also got Richard Harris and Christopher Walken. It's really good, and not just 'cause Noth is in it (but he does put his Yale School of Drama skillz to work there).

Huh. I'll have to look that up. The play doesn't have Pompey in it at all, so that would probably be pretty interesting to read.
