Author's Note: For [livejournal.com profile] makeitstopjamie. I'm thinking about writing a little mini-series with Brian/Lindsay and probably possibly Danny/Christina, and this, plus my earlier Brian/Lindsay fic would probably be a part of it. I'm not sure what to call it yet, but it will be called something.
For Reference: CSI:NY and Conviction. If you have a question, don't be afraid to ask, I don't mind answering.
Disclaimer: I don't own the characters of CSI:NY or Conviction. They're owned by CBS and NBC.

Danny heard the click of heels on the floor of the lab, and looked up briefly from the paperwork he was doing. He met Christina Finn’s eyes through the glass walls of the lab, and she gave him a smile. He nodded, and she made her way into the room.

“Hey.”

“Hey,” he said, before looking back down at his paperwork. There was a lull of silence before Christina spoke up again.

“Who is she?”

Danny looked up, and gave Christina a confused look. “Who is who?”

Christina shook her head in response, and then responded, “Sorry—Lindsay Monroe.”

“She’s the new detective from Montana,” Danny replied, looking back down at his paperwork again as Christina sat down at the table across from him, “Why? You lookin’ for her?”

“No, just—I’m kinda curious who she is,” she replied, attempting to make it nonchalant, and wondering if she succeeded. The look on Danny’s face told her that she hadn’t.

“What’s goin’ on, Chris?” he said, keeping his eyes trained on the paper in front of her, but glancing up occasionally, “What’d she do?”

“Well—it’s not something she did exactly,” Christina replied, running a hand through her hair, “But she and Brian are kinda—sorta—seeing each other?” Danny looked up in surprise, momentarily forgetting about the paperwork.

“Peluso and Montana?”

“Apparently they met in some bar, and he asked her out, she said yes—” Christina dismissed it with her hand, “—You get the picture.”

“Montana goes to bars?” he frowned, and Christina swatted at him playfully.

“Danny—this is kinda serious,” Christina sighed, “I just want to make sure that Brian knows what he’s getting into and he’s not going to get hurt.”

“You are?” Danny frowned.

“Yeah,” Christina nodded, “I’m his friend; I’m looking out for him.”

He studied her for a second, the beginnings of a smirk sitting on his lips, “You jealous, Finn?”

“No!” Christina protested, and Danny gave her a look. She hesitated for a second before speaking again, “—Maybe. A little.”

“Uh-huh,” Danny replied, an amused look on his face.

“I mean—there was never really anything between me and Brian—nothing ever happened, anyway,” she explained, “But still—there was kinda something there, right?”

“Sure,” Danny nodded.

“Sure?”

“Sure, yeah,” he said, “If anyone in that office was going to get together it was going to be you two.”

“Yeah—right,” she nodded, “So it’s just a little thing, you know. He’s moving on, I’ll move on. No big deal.”

“Not at all.”

“It’ll go away eventually—I think—I hope.” There was a long pause, and Christina buried her face in her hands, “Oh, my God, I’m completely jealous.”

“No, you’re not,” Danny sighed, “Well—not completely.”

“Seriously, Danny,” she sighed, “I’m happy for him for finding someone. I am. And I know I shouldn’t be—but I’m totally worked up over this. I hate it.” Her face settled into a pout and Danny sighed.

“Do you need a hug, Finn?”

Christina nodded, and Danny walked around the table and pulled her into a hug. Christina rested her head against his chest, and Danny rubbed her back.

“I’m sorry Montana got to Peluso first,” he said, and she smirked.

“Thanks a lot,” she said sarcastically, then her voice turned more sincere, “I’m sorry for you too.”

Danny gave her a look, “Sorry for what?”

“Flack said you kinda had a thing for her.”

“Flack doesn’t know what he’s talking about.”

“He doesn’t?”

“No,” Danny replied. There was another bit of silence, and he spoke up again, “But I appreciate the thought.”

“I thought you would,” Christina laughed. He then pulled back from her and gave her a smile.

“You done for the day?”

“Pretty much,” Christina nodded, “Jury’s out on my case, so I’m pretty free.”

“We haven’t grabbed a beer in a while,” he said, “Give me a few minutes to finish this up, I’ll meet you outside?”

“Sounds good,” she nodded, starting to walk out, before turning back to face him, “And by grabbing, I’m assuming you’re paying?”

“C’mon, Finn,” he whined, “You make more than I do.”

“Barely,” she said, and he rolled his eyes.

“Fine, I’ll pay,” he grumbled and she gave him a smile.

“Great. Meet you downstairs.”

Danny just shook his head, as she left before mumbling to himself, “And that is why we haven’t grabbed a beer in a while.”
