Jess never thought she would have herself wishing she had a hangover. Because a hangover would mean that she was drunk the night before when she made the incredibly stupid decision to sleep with the cop that Peluso had set her up with. Why she had decided to sleep with him, she still couldn’t figure out, but she had, it was done, and she was silently praying that she never had to see the guy again.

She bent her head back over her desk again, and tried to focus her attention on her paper work, when she heard footsteps come her way, and the scratch of the chair in front of her desk being pulled out. She looked up in surprise, and groaned when she saw who it was. “How did you find me?”

“It’s a gift, really,” Flack said with a smirk, “I just have a sixth sense for you.”

“How unlucky for me,” she sighed, looking down at the file in front of her.

“I’m hurt, Rossi,” he said, feigning that he was crushed, “I thought we had a real connection. I mean, last night, back at your place—”

“Flack!” She looked up in alarm, and then walked over to shut the door of her office. “Could you have said that any louder?”

He smirked, “I didn’t even get to the part where I said we had sex.”

“Which should have never happened,” she sighed.

“But we did,” he replied, “Can’t change that now.”

Jess rolled her eyes before running a hand through her hair. She really wasn’t in the mood to be dealing with his attitude right now, and she wasn’t even sure why he had shown up at her office to begin with.

“What do you want, Flack?” she sighed, exasperated.

“I need you, Jess,” he replied, his face turning serious, “Since last night, you’re all I can think about. I want us to run away and make a life together.” He got up at this point and crossed to her, taking her hand in his, “We could leave tonight—just get on the train and leave the city behind us. Whadaya say?”

She glared at him, before smacking him on the shoulder as he laughed, “This isn’t funny.”

“Yes, it is,” he nodded.

Flack,” she whined, “Can’t we just drop this?”

“No,” he replied stubbornly, “I’m having far too much fun.”

“You know, Detective,” she said sarcastically, “Annoying is really attractive on you.”

“Counselor, you flatter me.”

“What do you really want?” she asked, sitting back behind her desk again. He followed her back, leaning back in the chair before responding.

“Captain said you wanted the responding officer to the Murphy scene,” he replied, leaning back in the chair.

Jess groaned as she buried her face in her hands, “You gotta be kidding me.”

“‘Fraid not,” he replied, a smirk crawling up the side of his face, “I’m here to be an ass on official business, not just because I feel like it.”

“Remind me to thank Peluso for his brilliant matchmaking skills when I see him next.”

“I’ll do that,” Flack nodded, “But shouldn’t we get down to business?”

“One thing,” she replied, leaning forward on her desk, “You even think about throwing in any innuendo from this point on, I kick your as.”

“Fair enough,” he nodded, but the smirk stayed in place. She shook her head before looking down at her file.

“I so wish I had been drunk last night.”

“C’mon Jessie,” he said with a grin, “It wasn’t that bad.”

“It wasn’t the sex, Flack,” Jess replied, “It was who I had the sex with.”

“You wound me, Rossi,” he smirked.

“I try, Flack.”
