Stella walked over to the tech, who had a rather sour look on her face. Stella frowned, the woman was usually quite cheery, but today she just seemed—disappointed. “Everything alright, Jen?”
“What?” she said, looking up, “Oh, yeah—everything’s fine.”
“You sure?” Stella asked, “You look a little upset.”
“Well, it’s nothing—life threatening or anything,” Jen sighed as she went over and got Stella the results for her samples, “It’s just—Flack.”
“What about Flack?”
“Well, you know how he got that haircut last week? He was changing the look up a bit?”
“Yeah,” Stella nodded.
“Well—he ditched the leather jacket.”
Stella did a double take, “He did?”
“Yeah,” Jen sighed, pouting slightly, “It was my favorite part of the day, seeing him in that thing. He always looked good in leather.”
“So what’s he doing instead?” Stella asked. Jen blinked for a minute before realization hit her.
“I guess you haven’t seen him today,” she smirked.
“Of course not,” Aiden said as she walked into the room, “She would have had a fit.”
“Why?”
“He’s gone for the suit-and-tie look,” Aiden said with a grin, “And while I agree that it’s more professional—”
“Alright, what’s wrong with it?” Stella sighed, giving the two women a look, “Just spit it out already?”
Aiden and Jen exchanged looks, before Aiden shook her head.
“You’ll have to see for yourself, Stell,” she grinned, “I wouldn’t want to ruin the surprise.”

Stella found Flack in the breakroom, fixing himself a cup of coffee. His back was to her, and she just looked him up and down briefly, smiling slightly. He always did fill out a suit well, and having him wear one every day to work—probably wouldn’t be that bad.
“So—the lab techs are bemoaning the fact that you’ve let go of that jacket,” she said with a smirk, and he laughed.
“I still have it,” he replied, “Maybe I’ll wear it once and a while, just to give ‘em a thrill. Coffee?”
“Please,” she nodded, sitting down at the table. She waited for him to finish and when he turned around, her eyes widened in surprise. “Flack?”
“Yeah, Stella?” he asked, a confused look on his face as he placed the cup down in front of her.
“What are you wearing around your neck?”
He looked down before rolling his eyes, “Yes, I know the tie is awful. Aiden has already filled me in.”
“Where did you even get that?”
“It was a gift,” he replied, sitting down across from her.
“Why did you think it would go with that suit?” she frowned.
“I’m helpless when it comes to matching things, Stella,” he smirked, “You already knew that.”
“You need a girlfriend,” she replied, before taking her cup of coffee and getting ready to go.
“Hey, Stell, if you’re interested, I wouldn’t mind having you come pick out my ties every morning,” he said, taking another sip of his coffee.
She paused at the door, and gave him a look, “I’m seeing someone, Flack.”
His face flickered, only for a second before he responded, “I didn’t mean it like that.”
She watched him, only for a moment, and didn’t have the heart to correct him and tell him that yes, he did. She gave him a nod, before turning and heading back out again. “I’ll see you later, Flack.”
“See ya, Stella.”

Poor Donnie. Always wanting something he can't have -- you know, I used to be a big shipper of Mac/Stella, and you know I'm all about Flack/Lindsay, but for some reason I think that Flack/Stella is really the only one that could do well in canon. I wouldn't want to risk my FM Radio on the writers because everyone knows how well they handle relationships, but Flack and Stella already seem to have a groovy little chemistry thing going so I think that the writers could somehow manage to work it seamlessly into the show.
Anyway. Lovely story. I miss the leather jacket too. Among a lot of other things, Flack/Leather Jacket = OTP.
