“I hate graveyards.”

“You didn’t have to come,” Gina retorted over her shoulder as she and Noah headed down to the grave site they were looking for. “We could have brought the twins.”

“On Halloween?” Noah gave his girlfriend a look. “They’re too busy out terrorizing the children.”

Gina rolled her eyes, “You have a point.”

“Can we move this a little quicker, please?” Anna sighed, glancing around at the headstones.

“Haven’t you been in enough graveyards to get over this?” Gina asked, giving her a look.

“It is Halloween,” Anna sighed. “Isn’t it a no-no or something to be stuck in a graveyard on Halloween?”

“Since when to hunters listen to no-nos?” Noah asked.

Anna sighed heavily. A graveyard was the last place she wanted to be on Halloween, but Noah and Gina had promised it would be quick, and she wouldn’t have to spend too long in one of her least favorite places. There was a reason she wasn’t out there hunting in the full sense of the word, other than the fact that she couldn’t drive and readily get wherever she needed to be. She just never felt comfortable seriously doing this, and only took on hunts when she happened upon them, which wasn’t often. She knew how to hunt—it was part of knowing how to defend herself while she’s on the road. She just didn’t like doing it.

“So—what are we dealing with here? Demon? Zombie?”

“Nope,” Noah replied throwing down the gear once they got to the headstone they wanted. “Just you’re run of the mill spirit.”

Anna gave him a look, glaring slightly. “So what do you need me for?”

He grinned up at her, as he and Gina picked up the shovels. “You get to hold the flashlight,” he replied, before tossing it to her.

Anna caught it, before glaring at him some more. “You suck.”

“I know,” he nodded, before he and Gina started digging. Anna turned the flashlight on, turning the beam on the headstone for a moment.

“Marie Robinson. Wife, Mother and Friend. Hey—she’s a Mrs. Robinson!”

“Hah,” Gina said, giving her a look. “How cute.”

Anna smirked slightly, before turning the beam on Noah, shining it right in his eyes. “What kind of spirit was she?” He blinked back up at her, shielding his eyes with his hand.

“Watch where you’re shining that thing!”

“Answer the question! And I want the truth!”

“You want the truth!?!?” Noah began with a grin.

“Oh, for fuck’s sake—enough with the cheesy movie shit,” Gina said, cutting him off before he could finish. “Can we just get this over with?”

Noah laughed before turning back to Anna. “She was a woman in white.”

“Huh. How many kids did she have?”

“Only one,” Gina supplied.

“Thank God.”

They all drifted off into silence for a while. Gina and Noah continued digging before they heard the crack! of a shovel hitting wood. “I got something,” Noah sighed, and Anna moved over to the edge of the grave. Gina stuck the handle of her shovel up as Anna braced her, helping her out of the hole. The two women went to get the salt and gasoline while Noah cracked the coffin open. Gina started salting the bones as Anna pulled Noah out of the hole, and he waited until Gina had poured gasoline over the body before he started patting himself down for matches.

“Don’t tell me you don’t have a light,” Gina sighed, shooting her boyfriend a look.

“I only have a lighter.”

“Got a cigarette?” Anna asked, and Noah turned to her in confusion.

“Do you really think now is the time for a smoke?”

Anna rolled her eyes as she took the cigarette Gina offered her, and the lighter from Noah’s pocket. She lit the cigarette, and tossed it into the grave. It caught the gasoline and the body soon leapt into flames. Noah watched for a minute before shaking his head.

“That is a waste of a good cigarette.”

“Wouldn’t have been if you’d’ve remembered the matches,” Gina reminded him, rolling her eyes as she tossed him and Anna a beer. Anna opened hers before raising it to the grave and smirking slightly.

“Here’s to you, Mrs. Robinson.”

Gina gave her a look. “What’d I say about that?”

“Last one, I swear.”

Gina just looked back at her, before shaking her head. “God, this is gonna be a long night.”
