Dude. OK. Possibly the most well done movie I've seen all year. They didn't just stick Beatles songs in a movie for the hell of sticking Beatles songs in a movie, they really put the effort into working them into the storyline. The songs made sense, they weren't just there to be there. They followed in and out so well. And the voices? Every. Single. One of those actors could frickin' sing. Even Evan Rachel Wood, who I was expecting a kind of Amanda Bynes type voice (who wasn't horrible but wasn't exactly fantastic either)--Wood had this gorgeous deep voice--holy shit. So in love with this movie right now.

And dude, Jojo? I could listen to Martin Luther McCoy sing all day. He has a soulful voice yet he could totally rock it out at the same time. Like Jesse Martin with a guitar. GUH. And Jojo/Sadie--so hot. And her gritty rocker voice? Oh man. I want this soundtrack like NOW.

And the cinematography was just so pretty. And the direction was great. Really, really well put together movie.



AND--if all this wasn't enough to make me geek out?

Sweeney Todd. Musical. Johnny Depp. Helena Bonham Carter. Alan Rickman.

No trailer, I don't think (I kinda came in late to the previews)--but I saw the big cardboard thing. So, it's possible, but I don't know.

Oh, ok probably not. I haven't heard anything about a trailer release. And they just released the poster a little while ago.

If they did, it's probably not a good one anyway--just a teaser. The better ones'll probably start coming out in late October most likely (I think the poster said December? But I'm not sure.)

I'm so glad it's getting these A+ reviews, because if it ended up being awful, I would have been really sad. I've been waiting for this movie since forever, so the fact that the wait wasn't for nothing is good.

I'm so mad that they only put it in limited release though. If it hadn't come to the one theater near me, I probably would have had to go all the way to the city to see it.

Which would suck, because not only is it hella expensive, but I wouldn't.
